I Won the DAS monthly
« on: Mon, 04 November 2019, 08:57:01 »
Ive been entering the DAS and WASD monthly giveaways trying to get my first mech on the free. I told my wife " as soon as i buy one, i will win one" well, on nov 1 i purchased my first board. A vortex core with clears is on its way....the same day i got an email stating i won the DAS monthly...so a DAS 4 ultimate with blues is also on its way.

The only impression I got was that you are excited to try out some mechs. Congratulations on the win! I'm curious as to which board you will prefer. I use to love typing on blues but have moved towards linear switches throughout my keyboard builds.

Thank you for your kind and understanding response.  I've been waiting for months to get my first mech and yes, I am very excited to get my hands on a few and try them out.
I've never touched anything but a red switch at  the Walmart "gaming display" LOL I am hoping I like the clears more than the blues considering that they are in the board I wanted more( the core) I wanted to buy a KBP V60 because it came with the switches I really wanted to try (the box HEAVY pale blues) but I wasn't sure about that company so I stayed away from it.
I'm thinking about ordering a niu40 with the pale blues in a few months.
I really want to build or buy an ortho split-board (like a lets split) though. I have terrible wrist problems from an accident when I was younger and since type all day I really think an Ergo will help with the Pain.  I might throw both of these boards up on mech market and see if I can get ahold of a split in trade. who knows, maybe with 2 boards and some hopes and dreams someone will come through.

There are so many switch options now that it can be a bit overwhelming. When I first got into mechs, I built each board with a different switch setup to figure out what I liked. I ended up settling with vintage blacks as my favorite switch. That was a few years ago when there was a lot less of a selection and vintage switches were the main craze. I find myself more confused than ever with all the options available now. I personally have never tried a split keyboard yet but that is definitely on my list. Once again, congrats on your first mech! :thumb:

What's a flex ?

You know when you see a brand new I9 CPU in the box, and your mini tp gets all stiff.

That is a flex.

Flex is a slang term meaning "to show off,"

I guess talking about the good things that happen in your life brings out the haterade.  ;D :D

:)) :)) I like a good click but from what i hear on youtube and from reading reviews they just sound......cheap and janky.
I am impatiently waiting to get my hands on some heavy Pale Blues as they seem to have the sound and feel i am looking for.

The click mechanism for cherry switches is kind of jank, Im not a fan because of the..........sloppiness? of the sound.

But I will say that, while not for me, all the DAS boards I've tried have been very solid.
