says $20,000 buy in,   5-20 years payback rate.

One thing Tp4 iffy on is maintenance, since no one's owned their gear that long.

If you have to call people out for roof work, that's $1000-2000,  that's a whole year added to payback.  How many of these before it never pays back.  Roofs themselves are not indefinite,  they say it'll keep working till 2047,  but thats kinda bull**** because shingles only last ~20 years on their own. then you need rework which is $6000-10,000  ?

Tennessee doesn't cut solar any slack whatsoever, my house is almost exactly 5 miles due south of TVA Headquarters.

Ground mounting is far more desirable than roof, just dig one little trench to the house for the cable and maintenance is easy.
But not many people have the yard configuration and orientation for it.

Have solar. Didn't pay for it. Was already on roof. Roof solar and pool filter are friends. All savings for fanpeople. system is yet to break.
