Many people are the same about monitors, the thing you actually look at the entire time you are using your computer.
Someone I know just got herself a $2500 computer, and a $100 monitor. Like marrying a supermodel, then gouging out your eyes.

monitors are slightly different in that theoretically, depending on what you're using it for, a $100 might look more /less the same as a $500 monitor.

with calibration they pretty much all look the same outside of gaming refreshrate. .

without calibration,  going under $300 is dangerous.

those new acers are actually pretty good even at $150. you have to know what to look for though.

I love my Ruark speakers, phenomenal. Its hard to find some really good speakers that are not too expensive nowadays - this is serious rabbit hole, sound market.
So many hardware overpriced, like many brands just price their equipment for no reason, when I was searching for speakers for me pc, I found so many being really horrible, but priced as premium.
Plus for someone like me, who doesn't know much about sound systems, its really hard to find something proper and pay for actual quality, not just brand or specs on paper. I was lucky that I found a great deal for those Ruarks (new £350, I got open box from local shop for £200 as far as I remember, with full warranty etc).
