Birb-floo

H5N1 among dairy herd gon' bananas.

From wikipedia, 2024, April, 50% of cats living on the infected farm, fed "unpasteurized" milk, died of severe systemic influenza infection. Concrete evidence of viral shedding in milk detected across several herds.

I mean, this is totes-seriouz.  Oat-milk, taste pretty gud', for a year at least, just, don't even, it's like, br0, the cats.

Most of us remember getting sick from drinking milk in the best-of-times, now with pandemic economy, inflation, worker fatigue, rebel labor faction politics. The industrial food system seemingly runs on diminished quality control.

Wiki- As of April 2024, the WHO reported a total of 889 confirmed human cases which resulted in the deaths of 463 people since 2003.

-- That's a pretty deadly coin-toss.

According to my daughter, the veterinarian, "It's definitely a crisis situation in livestock and poultry right now."
"It's 110, but it doesn't feel it to me, right. If anybody goes down. Everybody was so worried yesterday about you and they never mentioned me. I'm up here sweating like a dog. They don’t think about me. This is hard work.
Do you feel the breeze? I don't want anybody going on me. We need every voter. I don't care about you. I just want your vote. I don't care."

So.. what they're basically saying is H5N1 is essentially now endemic IN COWS.

This is a problem because cows, birds, humans now form an integrated vector trio.  The cows do not die from H5N1, so this virus will constantly evolve due to selection pressure to be omnipresent among the vectored species.

That's wonderful. So excited for the next episode of Pandemic.

"The continued presence of H5N1 in cattle poses significant risks, necessitating urgent and comprehensive measures to understand and mitigate its impact. As Leibler remarked, “H5N1 is with us. It’s not a virus that’s going to disappear by any means.”"

This would be more like a new season of a pandemic show lol.

Also makes me think that my decision to stop eating me was a much better one than I thought healthwise.

Tp4 can only say that there is every reason to go 100% veggie. Every dimension of human existence is improved, and our specie's survival is dependent on this leap in adaptation.
