They Keep Turning Up the Crazy
« on: Thu, 16 May 2024, 17:02:43 »
I simply cannot understand what they are trying to accomplish.

According to data compiled by Jeffrey Sonnenfeld, the head of the Chief Executive Leadership Institute at Yale University, the majority of corporate CEOs are Republicans. However, the number of Fortune 100 CEOs who have cut a check for Trump is exactly zero. Trump has “the lowest level of corporate support in the history of the Republican Party," Sonnenfeld said.
It’s not that the CEOs love everything about Biden. They would surely love to see fewer environmental regulations and lower corporate taxes. But they recognize a good thing when they see it. As Sonnenfeld wrote in The New York Times, those CEOs know that Biden delivers a more stable, robust economy than Trump — an economy that is genuinely good for their businesses.
Also, Trump simply terrifies them.
A recently released study from Moody's Analytics found that Trump's plans for a second term are a formula for economic disaster. Mass deportations would result in an enormous worker shortage. Trump’s insistence on widespread tariffs would generate instant and sustained inflation. Moving the cost of government from income tax to tariffs would be hugely regressive, resulting in a recession almost from the first day Trump was able to implement his policies.

It's a distraction.

Alright, but FROM what TO what? It just makes no sense on any level.

Are they saying that they don't like being told to wear masks during a pandemic, but yet they want to be able to tell "other people" that they can't ever wear them?

Do they even understand that they are simply proving how stupid and duplicitous they are? Or is that somehow the point?

It's not about what they let you see. It's what they leave out.

What should be in the news, isn't in the news.

Cherry Blacks - Unlubed - Filmed and springswapped with tx 55g mediums - Alu Plate | Pretty happy with this, the blacks were cherry picked so they weren't that scratchy to begin with, but currently breaking them in, may lube them with a dry lube like ro59 or ptfe powder.

lubed with tribosys 3203 | Like topre a lot, prefer it lubed but did make less tactile but that might have been a skill issue. Probably will get more tactile over time as the domes age.

bad orange alps lol | Definitely needs a restoration. Planning on wax boiling them and maybe a replacement pcb because the board has only 2 key rollover apparently.

Gateron Yellows - Lubed with 205g0 - 62g tx mediums - pc plate | Probably my favourite keyboard already, feels super nice and sounds pretty good, it's got a great layout as well. Probably gonna build this with mx browns, I feel like it would suit the board more.

It's a friggin memberberry for the height of the pandemic three years ago.

"Member when woke leftist liberals wanted you to wear face-masks against a harmless flu, and you got angry. We want you to feel the same now again"

This one seems pretty easy to flip.  Just get 10-20 thousand people to put on masks and stand in a public spot.  Could even offer music and snacks.  Cheap and effective at showing the law means nothing and will be quickly reversed.  It's not often that peaceful protest is so easy to achieve.

Or, or,  or,  H5N1 2024,  2 million more people die.  Let's see how this goes.

People feel stronger in groups. If these politicians can make their followers feel heard or vindicated, they secure their next vote.

What hurts the most is that this actually makes people feel vindicated...

Yes, and how great would it be to see THOUSANDS of people wear masks in spite of it?  It would take all the wind out of their sails, no?

Unfortunately I'd say it really wouldn't, the far right would come up with the next topic to try to get their supporters fired up. Not the far left is any better, politics is in such a weird & ignorant place right now it honestly baffles me how fast we've lost the plot. No common sense whatsoever anymore, all the most debated issues are the least meaningful ones, news channels that cater to either side & actively lie to get ratings, etc., etc. I gave up on trying to figure out how we let ourselves come to this.
