Just got a pixel fone, man guys, these things are kinda invasive. It's digging into your mind and trying to connect you to the matrix.

Was having trouble with the unlock (fingerprint), and after a bit, it sends you an alert, having trouble with the fingerprint scanner, try adding your face for face unlock.

This thing is measuring and monitoring everything.

I didn't have to put my fingerprint or face id on my pixel, Just a passcode. I generally don't put those things on them, but that's superstition on my part, since both fingerprint and face id are both stored locally on the device from what I know, so they can't access that data remotely.

It's not that I'm worried about adding the biometrics, it's that I'm actively being monitored to such extent.

ah true didn't see that. I don't think I got any notifications that seemed like they were monitoring what I did, Just the standard stuff like notifying for security updates and like telling you to backup photos. Maybe it's because I didn't put the biometrics in. Wouldn't be surprised if google was monitoring people like that, they love that data.

Then they flash these random privacy policies at you a few hours into usage, after the initial setup.

My guess is they hope you gloss over it, and never turned them off, just thinking they were part of some app.

The hardware's decent enough. Can't complain. Everything's pretty light / smooth with stock android.

The launcher is, lets say you want to change brightness, you have to scroll down twice. Hrrrm..

Tp4 got the working-poor 8a edition, so the camera is meh. But Tp4 takes very few photos.

Screen quality, You know good and bad. It's very accurate, you can tell they're clamping the gamut hard. The draw back is, everything looks a bit dull like on ifones, they do the same thing, target accuracy. Samsung has that rainbow barf color mode, which Tp4 embarrassed to say enjoys on mobile.

Accuracy is not better in the majority of cases outside of photo apps.

I think what you get with these phones is great for their price especially the a variants, the only real subpar thing is the cameras, wish they would be a little better but for what I paid I can't really complain.

But the pixel generates in Tp4 a deep seated unease about joining the google-sphere so intimately.

It does, but Tp4 does not play games or watch movies on fone, it's pure torture for Tp4 relative to his proper-equipment.

One thing about the 8a, in a case, it looks drab and stealth, all them phone stealers prolly out for ifones, wouldn't even bother with the 8a.

Taking back what Tp4 said about the camera.

Gotten used to weird cameras on other fones, including ifone (everything is too green).

The 8a camera is fairly natural and realistic, although this does make it less fun of a photo compared to Samsungs which just ignore reality altogether on color.

IDK why there are so many negative reviews on the Pixel's battery performance.

Been using it on the road. Very well maintained, nearly no perceptible idle power draw.

the battery has been fine for me too, maybe it's about the battery over a long period of time.

I have had my Pixel 3 for at least 5 years and it has served me quite well. Also the battery still holds quite a decent charge.

Always careful with it, and always keeping it in a good case with a screen skin, it still looks and works great. There are numerous behaviors that perplex me, but they are probably my own fault or ignorance. Fortunately I have two 20-something kids (we all got these phones at the same time but they have long since moved on) and they can help me out.

The fingerprint sensor is just bad, it's not your fingers.

You have to do 1 fingerprint,  then when your finger gets dry or wet, you do another one at the time where it doesn't work.

That way the sensor can read all  WETNESS levels of your finger.  It's ridiculous. Isn't technology wonderful.

I've found it weird that the fingerprint is on the screen, apart from my previous phone I used to use devices that had the fingerprint scan on the home button, and those seemed to work no matter what the condition of your phone. Maybe that would make it better, but the more time has past the more I realize that the home button isn't as intuitive to me as swipe gestures. Still, seeing touch unlock work without that button still is strange to me.

Bough dat anker space a40 on a whim based on rting review. The noise isolation is incredible. Thought it was gonna be LIES, but no, it actually works way good'er than most NC earbuds I've tried.

Oh didn't know it's on the back on the 3, that's pretty weird, I guess the technology wasn't developed at the 3 and just thought it was the better idea at the time.

You no, m0ar the Tp4 thinks about this,  the crappier the fingerprint reader is, the more secure, because if it can't read your fingers, it sure as heck won't read anyone else's.
