Unshelled always, unless it is pistachios. I firmly believe shelled pistachios taste better than unshelled, and I'll die on that hill!

But I also tend to eat much more when unshelled. Put a bag of cashews in front of me, it'll be gone by the end of the night.

Also, no/less salt cause my doc said so. After a while you don't even miss the salt taste.

But when you got the peanut shell, getting it open and apart is very exciting, one would suppose, it's what the inner squirrel in all of us desires.

Only pistachios shelled, everything roasted, everything that's normally salted, salted. Almonds smoked. Not the greatest fan of peanuts (OK but not worth the calories). Best nut is macadamia, followed by pecans and walnuts.

They say walnut is good for the brain, debatable. Probably increases stroke risk.
