It is a weird reaction to consumers being more frugal due to inflation, to respond to consumers by raising prices. Very short-term and short-sighted solution. They don't ask WHY consumers are spending less, but how to squeeze more out of the less they are spending.

@TP4 I am in the market for a GPU for my kiddo. Currently using a Ryzen 7600G. I want to find a 4060 to drop into his PC. He is currently running a 1080p @ 60hz monitor with plans to eventually go to a single larger format 1440p monitor down the road. Any suggestions?

Why would you deny computer performance to your offspring.   

Computers are beds, you use it everyday, it's the only purpose of modern existence, to do things on the computer is the only thing anyone is good for in the 1st world countries.

There is literally no purpose to any other job / study / hobby in the future of AI convergence.

There's no reason why every man woman and child shouldn't own the bare minimum 7800x3d and 7900xtx.

3. I am also a bad dad cuz I have 2 34" ultrawide monitors and force my kid to use a single 24" 1080p @ 60hz office monitor. He will continue to save up his money for a new monitor when the time comes, but it's hard to earn money at 12 years old.

Tp4 could just see it now, a wispy slender female facing a closet, made-shift into a humble computer hub, there, a 17" crt. She's browsing slash, as all females do. A wry smile tinge the corner of her lips. A bubble in time, this small reprieve from an evil-totalitarian-husband who hoards all of the computing power in the house. She's contented that at least her children has a modern 24" monitor to experience minecraft like the others. It could've been hers, she could've slashed in style, but no, a mother's love cascades selflessly towards the kids. Women are indeed the fairer and more honorable. It is only through a woman's strength that one could endure such hardship. To make do, a modest sea wall protecting the shore.

That all being said, here is my new desk setup! Not super happy with the way the boards stained (because I am dumb), but overall very happy. I added a second USB switch. Now I have control over my keyboard/mouse and USB port on the surface of the desk on one circuit and my microphone and headset on a second switch. I can quickly move between my work machine and my personal machine without having to swap wire, etc. Work laptop slides into a bracket under the desk, out of site, but docked to use the USB switches, and the two monitors (100hz is nice). Wireless mouse was a game changer for wire management and the surface mounted USB port will be nice for thumb drives, controllers, etc. I also moved the tower from the desk to it's little stand where it fits so nicely. This opens up the underside of the platform for my DAC/Amp for my headset. The switch is actually hooked up via HDMI to the TV behind me and not to the curved monitors.

Most of why it looks luxurious is personal manual labor. Building a desk to the dimensions of your "office" really gives it a custom look. Doubly so when you build a custom platform out of scrap wood and decretive pipe, and run all the wires behind the drywall. I am a fortunate person and often have to remind myself to be grateful. I got very "lucky" in 2020 with some life events, insurance, and current market landscape. This has been an ever-evolving desk since I moved into the home in 2021.

I would love to see Tp4's desk setup. Maybe I should start a thread for people to share their battlestations. I like to think my desk setup is more engaging than the individual components.

LOL my kid is 12. He wants to play Fortnite and the occasional indie title off Steam. Is ray tracing even viable with the highest level cards. Especially on 1440p+ displays? It just feels like too much to process on the fly.

Raytracing won't be a legit thing until AMD gets it working faster on their cards.

Ngreedia just keeps selling trash-tier gpus and pushing DLSS.  I maintain DLSS looks like crap, and now they're pushing Frame-Gen, which is just interpolation, if I want interpolation I can just turn it on with the TV.

Frame gen makes an already blurry DLSS look EVEN BLURRIER.

I can't understand at this point why people support this behavior.
