What're Your Weird Medical Conditions?
« on: Tue, 22 July 2025, 14:49:12 »
Almost a year ago I blew my nose with a tad too much gusto and now air puffs out of the inner corner of my right eye whenever I blow. When allergies are bad my tear duct in that corner leaks and then eventually becomes irritated and infected. I saw an optometrist who prescribed antibacterial drops. Now I'm out of drops and my eye is bothering me again. She recommended seeing an ophthalmologist if the irritation returns, but what are they gonna do about it?

Much like yourself, Tp4 tires of the human experience.

Tp4's main disease is he's too damn autistic. Similar to Smarsmar's eye, Tp4 is skimming the line on the disorder, and people expect Tp4 to behave like the "Normies."

You can buy contact lens fluid and rinse with that instead of eye drops, way cheaper.  Some fluids don't agree with your eye chemistry and kind of stings, for example Tp4 can't use optifree express. If one of them doesn't work, try another one. Same stuff.

Just don't rub your eyes with your hands. always rinse with the contact lens fluid, then dab dry with eyes closed with a clean napkin that's kept stored away from dirt/ handling, like in its own drawer.

Sinuses are connected, in theory you can pinch your eye sinus so there's no depressurization event when you blow your nose. Just hold your finger over the front top front your face without touching your eye or the sinus opening.

Everyone I tell, including the optometrist, has never heard of such a thing. Weird, because I grew up watching tv that had people who could squirt milk and other assorted liquids from the corners of their eyes. I remember one guy putting a diver's helmet or something over his head and blowing air bubbles from his eye hole. I should probably take that trick on the road.

One of the most interesting people I used to know (I guess I technically still know him, but haven't interacted with him in 20 or so years) had high functioning autism. He also had face amnesia so that if you just show up at his house he won't recognize you unless he knew to expect you, even if he's known you for years. Fascinating guy.

The normies can go STICK IT!

I've been plagued with Levator Ani Syndrome, the hypertonic variety of the more generalized Pelvic Floor Dysfunction. It SUCKS, and it is EVIL  >:D  Although it's a physical disorder, it manifests a vicious cycle that includes anxiety, depression, despair, anger, disinterest, and other psychological conditions.
Luckily, the condition has been researched and recognized way more now than when I was diagnosed 13 years ago; although, I'm much worse off now than I was back then. I blame my downfall on what I dub "the perfect storm of 2020" when I was befallen by a series of unfortunate events during a two-year period beginning with the pandemic.

Sorry if this is tmi, I started this thread just so I could vent about this particular ailment because it sucks so hard.

Tp4 has heard of this. Folk remedy refers to avoiding spicy food, and total abstinence as being effective.

Tp4 would recommend standing desk on top of that, Sitting is like squeezing a tube of toothpaste (your guts) in the middle.  Nothing good can come of it.

Most of my conditions are not weird, just on-going and increasingly annoying/painful.
The only weird one is my inability to get REM sleep. I'm like an echidna. I never dream, and am fully conscious each and every night I'm 'asleep'
Like I know everything that happened in my room, can have full on convos with people and remember the next day as if I were awake, sometimes I'll get out of bed and work on something for a little bit then get back into bed. I feel my body shut down, especially after 5-6hrs, but my mind does not cooperate.

I've had numerous sleep studies done where they harness you up with chest stickies and **** in your nose (which is surprisingly NOT conducive to sleep) and the only conclusion they can draw is my heart is fine and I don't have sleep apnea. I could have told you that.

I have a standing desk. LOVE IT. :thumb:
These days, it's not just sitting that feeds the beast. Now, I can't stand or lie down for very long without pain and discomfort. I can't go a night anymore without tossing and turning, trying to get comfortable, even after taking low-dose Ambien and Advil. And don't get me started on my tight neck and shoulders.

Wow, that sounds awful. I can't imagine not being able to "turn off" and let my hind-brain show me some made-up stories. Have you ever been able to dream? Is there a clinical term for it?

I lost my sense of thirst about twenty years ago. I think it happened gradually over a year or so, but I don't recall the transition. I just remember thinking one day, "hey, I don't get thirsty no more; that's weird." Even after strenuous physical activities: not thirsty. Sometimes if I haven't drunk in a while I'll get a "hollow" feeling in the middle of my head and my ears will crackle like my brain is dried out. Almost immediately after drinking, the feeling will subside. I always have water with me and sip throughout the day, now out of habit. I've brought it up to doctors (if I'm seeing them for something unrelated) and they're like, "huh, that's interesting."

New meds give me terrible RLS at night. I used to think RLS was a joke when I was younger, a mental hurdle for anxious people. But it is extremely frustrating and very real to feel that sensation in your calf muscles, like they need you to constantly tighten and stretch them when you are just trying to rest.
Do not like.

the ****
(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.

I am getting leg cramps more often as I get older, and it terrifies me to imagine that it could become a nightly thing.
Michael Wolff says he urged Epstein to release information he had on Trump, but Epstein appeared worried about what Trump would do to him.
Epstein told him, “I may be a pervert, but I’m not crazy.” Epstein continued, "Trump is a man without any scruples.”

This is primarily due to the large intake of broken / oxidized fats from high heat cooking of animal products throughout one's life, didn't happen overnight.

This leads to the myelin sheaths being constructed poorly and less pliably.  Ontop of a severe dearth of exercise and sunshine, most older males in the west are in early stages of Multiple Sclerosis. This is in contrast to women who go directly into MS where symptoms are much more obvious earlier.

There is no medical treatment.  The only reversal is to #1 stop intake of animal/ saturated fats/ cholesterol, #2 exercise, #3 at least 15-20min exposure to Noon-day sun per day, large intake of tomatoes + bright color veggies to relieve oxidative stress. #4, no more high-heat cooking (damaged fats).

Large doses of Vitamin D has clinically been proven to not only NOT WORK, but also increase the severity of degeneration/ probability of falling.  They tested this, by injecting women with huge Mega doses of vitamin D,  failed.    They don't know WHY sunshine is different,  but clearly,  it's different and WORKS in the process of reversing MS,  but WFPB Diet is just as important..

It's either get crippling anxiety that mimics heart attack symptoms, or deal with horrible RLS when I'm trying to fall asleep. Least of two evils I guess.

I got another one for you: Both my armpits sweat an equal amount, but only the right one smells like bo. There is almost no scent other than my deodorant from the left, and the right acts like I didn't put any on at all

I sometimes take a CBD gummie for relaxation if I have to do something anxiety-triggering, and it usually calms me enough to plow through it; although, it sounds like your case is more severe.

As long as I can remember, my one pit has smelled worse than the other. About a year ago they switched.  :))  I think I might've passed my "best by" date.
