Don't think peeps apppreciate how HARD  the rare earth problem is.

Basically, gina spent 50 years building up the processing. There are Hundreds of nobel laureats equivalent level of scientific breakthroughs EMBEDDED in the super-structure of their mining/refining.

This would take the western world more than 50 years to replicate, if even possible given energy constraints as we move forward.

For example, let's say you want to build your own car, ok, do it,  but you spent your whole life building it, and now you're old, and you'll never get to drive it.    And because you've spent your whole life doing it,  it's IMPOSSIBLE to make it profitable.

Remember,  we're more/less beyond peak oil....   Now that energy is Contracting, productivity HAS TO chase the least cost.

We'll never catch up producing the most expensive product no one can buy.

In principle, if you devalue the $dollar enough,  assssuming people don't  Ooigy's mansion the entire gabamnt, wellll..  MAYBE...

But it's unlikely,   England mainly raise chavs who won't work a proper job.  They fear that if they raise the education the chavs would come for the aristocracy,    All long run civs end up in more/less the same place.

The difference in Gina's system is their Mandarin class,  which we don't quite have.   In the long run,  they'll face the same problem we face, because the problem is a matter of scale,   they'll be able to push it for longer being the only  difference to our western system.

But in any case,  rare earth is insurmountable under the current flavor of capitalism.

The military should not be profitable,  profit can not be the aim of military industrial.

The is most exemplified in our ship building differential with our supposed "adversary"

total ship building tonnage,

US,        100,000    Metric Tons / year

Jina,   23,250,000   Metric Tons / year    ( 232x US rate)

This order of magnitude output differential extends to stand off munition such as long range cruise and ballistic missile motors/radar/guidance/satellite network.

Money is functionally a mind control mechanism, but unchecked it's a collective DELUSION.

A grain silo is a grain silo, a bank is a bank, you can not do anything in the real world with a bank.

A mine is a mine, a steel mill is a steel mill, money is supposed to make that happen.

But it stops happening, when someone believes Being Rich, is the same as Being Strong.

So when you put wealth, and "Rich" at the center of ideology,  what you have is a slide into irrelevance.

But at the core, is the fact that the very Nature of CONFLICT has changed,   Everyone's in the same pool of gasoline threatening to immolate each other.

So,  whatever disagreement exists,  they have to be settled in some other manner.

The CONCEPT of Empire is obsolete.   Every system which attempts to hold it all together using the threat of violence, will inevitably collapse inwards. That is because such systems are internally parasitic, it consumes and wastes the entire lifespans of its own citizens.
