Your awesome Poker usb cables!?

I just got a Poker today and now I want an awesome usb cable to use with it. I've seen some neat looking LED ones which would be pretty neat. Anyone have one? Pics of what you're using etc would be sweet too.

Those are very nice whisker. I really like the bottom two. I had seen the top ones in the classified. Are you selling those too?

I was really just making them for myself and had leftovers originally. In the future I will probably make some more for people on the forum, but probably by request only.

No. I know what your talking about though and I looked for those cables for a long time and could not find any with the right connector. Most where A to A or A to B, but no mini B.

You can get the led ones with mini b from Deck. Only has the led in the A end though, which is kind of lame. I haven't seen any that do have led in the mini b side anywhere else either though.

Thanks for the link. I found a couple on Amazon with both ends lit. I found pictures of one that the entire cable was lit. The pictures were all on Korean or Chinese sites (go figure). I would kill to get one of those. Make my cord look like an alien schlong.

I have seen with both ends led, and one with elwire running the length, but never with A - mini b, always A - B.

Thx guys, I have been having a lot of fun making these cables and will hopefully be able to get even better at making these. In the future I would like to make a usb cable with four different colored paracords wrapped in clear shrink wrap, just cause I think it would be cool.

You can actually get the cables with angled ends if that is what you are trying to accomplish. I would assume that it would be easy enough to shrink wrap the angled end, but I have never done it

I just got some paracord yesterday and it is pretty cool to work with! The only problem I have had with it has been that it is kind of small so not all cables will fit through it. I also am working on a cable right now that uses paracord with techflex over it, Hopefully it will turn out good. I will post some pics soon.

I got 550, Seems to work pretty good. The only issue for me is that it is a little tight so the solder joints in my cables need to be PRO, so I have to take a little more time with assembly, although it is worth it because the paracord is pretty nice material for sleeving and I don't have to buy random hoses to salvage anymore.

How difficult is it to remove the plugs so I can get the de-gutted chord around the wire?  I'm going to go ahead and inquire about the reciprocate process as well.

You have to cut the cable and re solder. The trick is hiding the bump and I am still trying to get that perfect myself

My patience has been tested, but here's my almost finished product.  I need to grab some shrink wrap and finish it up tomorrow.  I'm shooting for the black and white thing if you couldn't tell.  






^ Para cord is designed to be burned and rolled flat when cut so it does not fray.  It actually wrapped itself around the usb plug fairly well.  
I used a different method than you described but I don't have to worry about hiding the bump as much because those wires get staggered and wrapped.

Thanks whiskerbox.  550 is really tough to push those wires through (I used tape to try to smooth them out).  I think I even taught myself a few new cuss words working that wire without snagging and sticking it to the inside of the 550.

The best way to do it is to cut one end off and then slide the paracord over the wire before making the connection otherwise it will get caught and snag the cloth. I also try and cut the paracord a little longer then the cable because it generally is not as long when put on the cable due to differences in diameter and I melt the ends before sliding the paracord over the cable so it doesn't fray. Of course this all took me many cussing seessions to figure out lol.

I actually use a Sony ps3 controller cord. They are discontinued now but they pop up on eBay sometimes. Thick braided and 10 feet in length.

But after dans review and the pretty colors I would go with whiskers
