Try the hair dryer - it is a bit safer than playing with near boiling water.

Just put the space bar on an absolutely flat surface (which will show if it is warped) and point the hair dryer at it for a few moments.  You should see the ends dropp down a bit when it softens up slightly.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

i had two matching samsung panels but one got a nice pink line across it right after the warranty expired.  the samsung i picked up back in 2007 and the dell i snatched from work when they were throwing it out.

the other thing that drives me crazy is one is a 20" and the other is 21"

thanks!  im dumbfounded at how cheap it was.  i was expecting a piece of junk but its actually really solid and the build quality is great for the price.  I had picked up 2 articulating arms about 5 years ago and they were close to 75 a pc.  this was 50 for the whole thing.

Got this yesterday. Needs some cleaning and retrobright.

Very cool. Looks WYSE-ish. But the case looks like a TO-300? Are the different colored keys also doubleshot?
I stay busy with work and family these days, but I'm still around, lurking.

Yes it's a re-branded Wyse board. It says it's manufactured by them on the label under the board. I'll have to check the label for more info. I don't really know my Wyse models.

The alpha keycaps also look like standard double-shot wyse keycaps. But all the weird caps are engraved/infilled keycaps. All the red & green caps look like they held up well but some of the f1-f12 are showing a little wear.

Nice find!

Thanks. :)

It seems you have perfected your keyboard, at last! That yellow heat shrink really sticks out but I'll just pretend that's the highlight of the keyboard :P Congrats. Where do you go from here?!

Sell my Filco... finish up my audio set up...... and then........... you know........ it's purple and green.......... ;) ;)

Lol! You still have that Filco :P Finishing up your audio set up will cost quit a bit but that purple and green is a long time coming, bro. I've already done a NERV board but if you do the purple and green, I may have to do a orange and red with a hint of green and white.

Oh, I forgot! mistakemistake's new LZ's pretty much the closest thing I've seen come to being the 01 keyboard other than that one weird Filco... that looks good....................... l;sakdfja;lsdkjg;lawkjgsdgreg

I have the same stand and I can definitely vouch for the quality. It is astonishing how much new space you have after you set it up.

How deep of a lip does the desk need to have for this stand to get enough bite to hang on?

I could really use this at work but I'm not sure my desk has enough edge.

Damn son, those brass inserts are so crispy. I could use that as a mirror. And that grey reminds me of how they paint military ships. Pretty happy to see a project I had a small hand in come to life. Congrats :D

Battleship Grey?

Don't have a clue as to what it's called but yeah, sounds right :D.

AFAIK they are different blue grays. Graphite utilizes SP-code "GSM" blue gray pared with GX dark gray mods. I'm not sure which white they used but I am guessing WFK.

The calm set uses BFR, GTA and BBQ.

I am also colorblind btw. Deutranopic FTL!

I do not really like how the real color combinations of legends and backgrounds turn out. The whole set looks not as good as I expected it would be. The contrast is quite low and very hard to see the text while typing. It also makes me dizzy just by look at it. It's a pity.

But it's still an unique looking set though.

while I agree. You shouldn't be looking at your keys while typing anyway. Keyboard forum and people still don't know how to touch type. For shame!
No, he’s not around. How that sound to ya? Jot it down.

Btw, nice pics mate. Really nice :)

Thanks for the compliment mate.

About the colors I'm fine with the mod and base's colors, just want the legends could be more visible or at least do not make me dizzy while looking at it haha

I think it looks great on that keyboard as well :)  Very nice contrast of strict dark metallic gray and bright caps.
