you know what's weird?

usually when you replace topre caps, they sort of snap on. not this fn. made me feel weird not hearing the snap.

Neither of my Mummies snap but all the other regular caps do.

Some of my Topre artisan caps snap on, most do not.  I thought that was just variations in the stem, materials, construction techniques etc.

Today was a good day. I got my 356 mini pcb back along with a custom cable made by TJ, clear switch tops, gold stickers , two ergodox pcbs, some 62g springs, glam wrist wrest from massdrop, and this ginormous "mouse pad"
Show Image

I'm seriously considering getting myself one of those wrist rests now that they're on Massdrop again. Currently I have a full size Grafiti wrist rest which doesn't fit my Poker 2 at all.
Did you oil yours?

I try not to leave my wrists on the rest when I'm typing, but when I'm gaming or doing something with less hand movement, I really like to have my wrists on a solid surface. It depends on the height of the board whether that surface is a rest or just the desk.

Easy enough to test if a wrist rest is right for you - get a folded tea towel, or a couple of paperback books, or even a short length of smooth wood or plastic.  Rest it in front of your keyboard.  Leave it there for a day or two and see what difference it makes.

Let me know how the remaping goes. I haven't figured out a good way to do it, and I may end up just using Soarer's convertor to remap it.

The strange top row and arrow cluster are the give away. Nice get, is it going to be butchered for its meat or are you leaving it as is?

Not too sure yet. It depends on whether I get a board worthy of the switches or not :p

Yes, they are vintage blacks. They're a rare version with transparent top pieces that are only found on this type of board - Nixdorf Softkeys.

My opinion is that they're the perfect linear switch. They're so smooth that lubing them makes them feel worse. Really, I'm not kidding..

I want to try them now! But I'm wondering if I would be able to feel the difference. I'm typing this on a Poker II w/ Black atm and I also have a single vintage black (that Azhdar gave me because he broke one of the pin). I know that it is different that using some on a board but I have trouble feeling the difference between them tbh. I wonder if it is like wine by that I mean that you need to get used to it if you want to feel the difference between them. Or maybe it is just a little difference barely noticeable that some keyboard enthusiasts like to point out.
