Aldnoah Zero's ending is... yea... kind of ****ed up (im enraged by it too), but in terms of animation, char development, and most importantly the strategies used by Inaho against opponents with overpowered tech, i think it is awesome.

If you want one with good story ending, can try Suisei no Gargantia.

Aldnoah Zero's plot was extraneous... They didn't put enuff money in the mech fights imho..  They weren't very exciting.. too much dialogue.

I agree if you say S2's mecha fights are less polished than in S1's, because I do feel that there is a rush there, but thank god it still maintain the importance of strategy play here.

The rush is most felt when suddenly already final battle with the earth federation etc... and that ****ed up ending.... I chased all the way from episode 13 to episode 23.... and A-1 Pictures give me that...  >:D

I see I see... I also liked Macross, only didnt watch Macross Dynamite 7 I think.

MJP is gooding, the 3D mecha fights are the best so far, unless you also take into account Fafner Exodus

Also, I liked that in MJP, the main char's Red is not #1, is Red Five, Blue is One  ^-^

I'm really really glad, that they don't make any good model kits...  cuz that'd be another stupid $1000... cuz you just gotta have all the robots, prolly something like $100 each, and then some stupid weapons kit..

Didnt knew you were also into model kits?

So far they release only very few of the kits for MJP though...

For model kits, I only interested in Bandai Plamo for Macross, coz I like my valkyrie to TRANSFORM!

On another note, how do you watch your anime? Episode by episode per week? Or in one shot marathon?
For me I cant stand waiting them once per week, it will drive me insane, so I always watch completed ones, right now Im catching up on those ended last season.

I guess I like some of the typical usa favorites. So many animes are listed in this thread!

Samurai Champloo
Akira
Ghost In The Shell
Cowboy Bebop
Planetes
Macross: I watched a few episodes but was distracted by Planetes. I'll probably watch a few more to decide if I like it or not.
Attack On Titan was a no go for me. The 'mystery' of the Titans kept me from watching more than three episodes.

That's awesome! My girlfriend and I loved the series but we never got around to the movie :/

Right now we're going through the GitS series for the second time so after that maybe it'll be time to rewatch Steins;Gate and then the movie :D

The movie is good but not needed just like the OVA.

If you get a chance I would recommend the VN for S;G and I am looking forward to the second series that was announced.

Have you seen the original Gits?

I would also recommend "Time of Eve"

And "Patama Inverted" ( This movie will turn your world upside down )

Just chiming in here to mention the sports anime, "Baby Steps." It's a tennis anime.

I know what you are thinking:

sports anime? Never got into those & those sport-themed animes can't be engaging to watch for people that dont like a particular sport or sports in general

Tennis? I didn't like Prince of Tennis & I won't like Baby Steps

Baby steps? What in the hell kind of name is that !

I urge you to forego those possible inclinations....Baby Steps is simply amazing ~ it has intense action sequences that rival that of shonen animes (seriously on the edge of my seat for many of the protagonist's epic matches). Even those that don't know the first thing about Tennis will be able to follow along as the main character learns how to play the game himself. The show has two seasons out right now, and was not renewed for a 3rd season, but its well worth the watch  :thumb:

Alright, I'll keep that in mind. I haven't read or played any of the visual novels for S;G but I've heard they're pretty good!

I have seen the original GitS, I loved that movie :thumb:

As for the other two movies, I haven't seen either of them but I looked up their trailers and they seem like my kind of anime so I'll definitely put some time aside to watch them. I'm also a big fan of Paprika (that soundtrack <3), Summer Wars, and in keeping with the time travel theme of S;G - The Girl Who Leapt Through Time :D

Suzumiya Haruhi (series and movie)
Mawaru Penguindrum
Cowboy Bebop

I just finished GATE and quite enjoyed it too :)

Rory Mercury!!!!!!!!!!!!

You can almost say the sole reason I watch GATE  ^-^

***** please, who dare discriminate sports anime?

I have watched Slam Dunk, Kuroko no Basuke, Haikyuu, One Outs.

One Outs is awesome shyt! It's like Lelouch playing baseball

EL PSY KONGROO ! !

Tu-tu-ruuu!  :))

Uhh Tp, you mean that one whose animation is kind of... "unique"?

That one I also hands up, maybe it is just me, but I cant accept that kind of animation  :-\

I think when Naruto debuted that was the last anime I actually watched, then stopped when Shippuden started up.

Watched:
Cowboy Bebop
Akira
Dragon Ball/DBZ
Samurai Champloo
Naruto
Ranma 1/2
Robotech (random episodes here and there)
Samurai 7
I'm sure there's more to the list of just random episodes from various series, but yea

Tried watching Attack on Titan and couldn't get into it.

Thanks for the suggestion :thumb:

Haha, I really liked it. Especially all the jokes at how Itami is actually a really well trained soldier despite his outward appearance lol

Incidentally, I've watched Log Horizon and I really liked that as well. I never bothered with SAO so I can't compare it but I really want there to be another season of Log Horizon. As for the Dagashi Kashi, I'll have to give that a go once I've finished up Baby Steps / GitS :)

Yesssss, I'm glad you are enjoying it! I'm very aware of the addictive effect it can have, i marathoned through it so fast, only to be so upset that there is no 3rd season as of yet. Keep on going ! it only gets better!

Yea... I want another Log Horizon season as well, the story hangs there...  :'( :'(

I really hate it when they switch the story focus to the kids... damn BORIIIIIIIIIIIING......... BUT the moment they shift focus back to SHIROE and friends, shyt just got serious

Dagashi is nice, but this season's Sakamoto desu Ga? should take the crown for the comedy anime because it just seriously hilarious.
I laughed from the moment it starts till the ending song  :)) :)) :))

The key geekhack-relevant feature of Steins;Gate is that the central focus is an IBM portable computer with an integrated beam spring keyboard.

Only after typing on a beam spring board will you truly understand why they go to so much trouble to find that machine. ;)

I think that is the reason why folks here buy Model M/ F boards, but I doubt that is the reason in the anime though  :p

Model M / F are significantly different from beam springs. If you’ve never tried a beam spring board, definitely try to find one sometime. They’re a lot of fun to type on, and have the best keycaps ever made.

Especially the ones with APL legends on some IBM 5100s:

o.O I misinterpret that buckling springs == beam springs  :-X

Will try to research around to find out more about them, thanks for the knowledge!

Guys, anyone watching Heavy Object?

Am currently watching it, so far liking it.

Love how two flesh-and-blood soldiers that don't wear helmets taking out technologically advanced military weapons called Objects with them skills and strategies
