I have always used Firefox and I love it. Yesterday I got a new computer (Windows 7 64 bit) and I have been playing with Pale Moon and Waterfox (64 bit versions of Firefox) and I have to say I love them both.

I liked and used Firefox for years and years up until just a bit ago. I don't know what it is but I like Chrome much more now and don't even have Firefox on my computer.

Opera and Chromium on Windows, Midori on Linux.

They're all excellent for what they do. Opera has session handling which I need for work, Chromium has perfect picture rendering and is generally well supported. Midori is really light for a Webkit based browser and does Flash.

I really wanna like Firefox, but it's sluggish as hell. Even starting with the UI, and that's something I just don't wanna waste time with. Opera can open 20 tabs from your bookmarks in literally no time at all. Chromium isn't even as zippy, but on the other hand, it is more polished.

No love for iron? Iron > Chrome by far. Iron flattens chrome. I use iron primarily now.

On my wondows box, I used to use firefox 3.6, but now that they've dropped support, opera is my backup. I used to use opera primarily ('cause it's awesome!) but it can't handle my browsing habits that well (500+ tabs open: Memory HOG!)

I use midori a lot, too, if I just want something quick, and another browser is in use. No flash in windows, though. I wish midori were a little more predictable/stable.

Ofcourse, I try to get away with using links2 or links hacked, but there's just so much javascript and graphical content online nowadays.

Palemoon looks pretty decent, I think I'll try it next. I really despise Fierfox's (and chrome's) release schedule. Why don't they just add +5 to their version number every couple years

Technically, I still use iceweasel 3.6 on my linux machine, but that's really because iron doesn't want to load any page with a # in the URL, so I'm using it for GH at the moment.
I haven't heard of "Iuakit" before, and am looking it up now.

Chrome, just because a couple years ago it beat the hell out of other browsers for speed and since then I have yet to really have a need to switch to anything else.

Iron is Chrome without some Google hooks and with some extra Iron hooks. Because the guy who distributes it wants to make money off of it himself. I recommend Chromium which is just as easy to get. It makes Iron superfluous.

What are you guys talking about? Iron is a fork of chromium. Nothing to do with chrome (other than that) Iron makes other chromiums as obsolete as element 24.

For mostly text-things, (text-based games, foruming, etc.) a text-based browser can be pretty handy. In terms of raw speed and memory footprint, links (et al. I didn't like W3m as much, etc.) and it's derivatives make your fancy GUI browsers obsolete.

Chrome, with Firefox as my backup. My motherboard came with an install disk that included Chrome, so I haven't had to open Internet Explorer once since building this computer. I'm pretty pleased.

Chrome has been getting more and more ad-ons made. I'd say the Adblock is pretty close to Firefox. But personally, the clean minimalistic look of Chrome wins out over Firefox's bloated interface any day.

That addon makes me want to try FF again after years of staying away, but do you have an addon that will sync my google bookmarks well to and from Firefox? I use Chrome primarily because of the cloud function that syncs up perfectly with my android device.

edit: Especially now that I tried Tree Style Tabs. That is such an amazing addon :O. Too bad it doesn't work the same way in Chrome

microsoft windows is one of my favourite things about this forum.

I use Firefox, and at the risk of being labelled some sort of browser-hipster, I somehow missed out on using IE entirely, having gone from Netscape Navigator as my first browser in the 90's (before I even had Internet access, I used it for reading "e-zines" off demo discs) then from there onto Mozilla, then stated using "Phoenix" pretty early which obviously later become known as Firebird and then finally Firefox. I've tried IE, Opera and Chrome, but they were all a bit meh, especially Chrome which I found the most unappealing of all of them.

Ah, so that's what it is. Saw a friend using it once but never asked what it was called. Might give it a go one day, looks good for not having to switch to the mouse and back!

Used to be a firefox fanboy, but switched to Chrome recently since it seems more reliable. Tried Opera, but it had too many issues to keep up with.

IE9 isn't bad per se, but earlier IEs have left a bad taste in my mouth. My cursor instinctively avoids the 'e' now.

I'm still using Firefox; being a bit paranoid it's hard to drop NoScript and Adblock Plus, throw in a few more add-ons for fun and it's all good. I recently started messing with themes again, and while most seemed to bog Firefox down, one called 8 Ultimo (by Stefano Rosselli) seemed to shed some of the fat and ran faster than the default theme.

Yeah that's how I am. A lot of the things that I use in firefox are made for Chrome but they often don't work the same (as in not as good as they do on firefox) and I can't stand it

I can see how that would work well and make sense. I don't have a smart phone so it just comes down to what's best for me on my desktop and I've always loved firefox

I use Opera most of the time, but there are some things I have to use chrome for. Opera still is not completely up to par with other browsers in my opinion..
