Taiwanese girls are the hottest...but I digress.

I would check out the Ducky's they have over there. I would imagine they have a lot of nice things that would be difficult to check out in person here.

food stuff: beef noodle, minced pork rice, big fried chicken fillet (in night markets), local flavour ice cream (curry, rice, chicken, ginger...), oyster noodle, duck tongue... anything local and exotic, crowds are often good indication.

And yea, Ducky keyboards are sold really cheap there  ;D (basically the price you see on pchome without shipping) and maybe Filco.

Man I haven't visit back Taiwan for so long, miss all the night market food.  As for keyboard wise, I think since PC Home ships worldwide now all a lot of stuff is readily available online.  So there's less and less "exclusive" items around anymore, I'd just visit the electronic store market and see what they have there.

Otherwise just enjoy the food and the girls and have fun :)

EDIT:  If you reallllyyyyyyyyyyy want maybe go take a look at Ducky Shine II and CM Storm Recon.  Which will both arrive here later but if you're impatient you can take a peek while you're at it ;)

Welcome to Geekhack!

If you had a few more posts, you could start a GB before you went ;)
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

See if you can find a Filco Zero. Those are impossible to get.
If you live in AZ you can try my keyboards. I usually keep plenty of different ALPS and MX and buckling springs.

Thanks guys!!  Well, no ladies for me: I'll be going with my Taiwanese fiancée to prep for our wedding :p

Food sounds good, but I can get beef noodle at home now!!   If stuff is cheaper, I'll dig up a Filco and or a ducky...   Maybe a yotd?

Glad to be new to the community!

Learned from /r/mechanicalkeyboards today that the Filco's are around $10 cheaper in Tainan, prices will probably be the same in Taipei.

But you'll be able to check out the YOTD. If you find out how much it is, let us know! I'm probably going to have a relative proxy it for me in the near future, after I finish my PC build.

Wtf??? that gives you even MORE reason to hook up, not less... You do realize she's probably thinking the exact same thing...

Besides, I've heard that the 小三 (small three) is an integral part of a functional / happy Taiwanese relationship.   I heard this literally from every Taiwanese corporate guy I've worked with.

I wouldn't say that it's an integral part...really depends on the guy. And how much he makes, haha.

Perhaps it's a more modern thing, and the OP may be more traditional. Still, I don't see how the wife would find out, and they're NOT married yet.

It's not that they'll be clingy, I'm just pointing out that China has bad statistic keeping, and disease rates are significantly higher than the report.

That escalated quickly.

My signature hasn't changed since 2012. I should really update it.

Taiwan is different from the bad-statistic-keeping China.

what makes the 700 leopold special?  Also, does that keyboard have the non standard sized keys (leopold style)?

funny thing is last time i was in taiwan, i visited the big electronics mart, but wasnt enlightened enough to visit the keyboard section.

It's special because it comes with PBT caps stock, looks cool, and is not easily obtainable in the US. Someone correct me if I'm wrong :D
