Ducky YOTD (DK-9087) Disassembly
« on: Thu, 20 September 2012, 21:32:32 »
Anyone ever open up the Ducky Year of the Dragon?  I've only found the single screw on the back (one covered with the warranty void sticker).  I've checked under the rubber feet and the legs, but haven't found any others.

And in typical nature of the Ducky boards, I know it has plastic latches/pegs that secure the top/bottom case together.  I've tried using credit cards to pop the latches open, but the case still feels like it has something holding it together.

Any help?  Did I just not pull hard enough to pop the two halves apart?  Did I miss a hidden screw?

****Update: Images****
Took a few images of the disassembly.  Sorry for the 'amazing' iPhone images.

..Top bezel of the case removed.  Two screws hold the plate/pcb to the bottom bezel of the case.

um.... I doubt it. You just need to pry it a little further out.

Do the Front first, because the back is thicker height wise.

I had some WYSE 'boards with a screw under the feet. If you're sure you've checked everywhere, then it's just a prying issue.

Although prying is a delicate art. Anyone who's dealt with Dell display bezels knows that they are very easy to crack.

Cracking the case is what I'm afraid of. I don't think I'm missing any screws; guess I'll just have to try it again.

Finally came back around to this, today.  Managed to get it open without any breaking.  Four pegs on top, four on the bottom, with a single exterior screw.  Then the plate/pcb is mounted to the bottom half of the case with two more screws that are hidden under the top half of the case.

I took a few pics (albeit crappy iPhone pics), that I'll put up later.

Added the pictures.  Sorry they aren't the greatest of quality, but it's more than I was able to find for the YOTD, when I was looking around.
