Filco legs
« on: Wed, 26 September 2012, 13:14:13 »
Where can I get one or two legs for a Filco Majestouch keyboard for cheap. I tried to contact Diatec, but they referred me to a UK company. Cost including shipping would be about 20 USD here in the US.

You might also try NCIX...they are distributing Filco here in the US and Canada, though not sure if they can help out w/ spares.

$20 shipped for a part that's hard to find or not suppose to be sold is reasonable. You're not going to find something like this on ebay for a cents.

BTW welcome to GH

+1 - It may take a while but NCIX can ask Filco to ship extras. Back when Elite Keyboards was selling Filcos, he was able to get extra legs. Since I'm a good custer, he even sent me one for free once. I actually found the lost leg about a year after... So yes I have one extra but holding on it. :-)

Welcome to Geekhack!

Hope you find your legs ;)
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada
