Problems with brand new Leopold?

I received my new Leopold FC700R from an Aussie site (PCCG), along with some other goodies like a new deathadder BE and qck+ pads.
Just finished plugging everything in, all working fine until I went to test the new gear on some games. I found that it was randomly disconnecting for no reason. Not sure if I nudged it or something? But the USB connector (on the keyboard end) doesn't seem very stable. This happened 3 or 4 times and I had to wiggle the plug around back into the keyboard although it already seemed like it was all the way in.

I'm using the USB as my PS2 has been broken for some time now. Not sure if this has anything to do with it.

Has anyone else found any problems like this? I was thinking of sending it back, but it's been working for the past hour now without any disconnections.. I just don't want to be doing something important further down the track and have my keyboard disconnect again.

Aside from the issue, this keyboard is awesome, somehow feels much better than my Majestouch even though I have the same switches. Probably the key caps.

Sorry that your first post is to report a problem (most regrettably I seem to be saying that too often these days).

Anyway, I haven't had any problems with PCCG, although admittedly I have not had to return anything.

First make sure the cable is plugged in properly at both ends.  Some keyboards are a bit delicate with the keyboard end of the cable.

Next can you try the keyboard on a different computer?

Lastly, try a different cable.  A standard USB to mini-USB cable should suffice.

If all else fails, maybe call PCCG, describe the symptoms - maybe it was a faulty batch of keyboards.

I'll probably cmoe to regret saying this, but there are not many Leopold problems reported around here.

Not counting the spacebars, which are broken as designed!

I love my Leo 200's; after I replace all the keycaps, that is.  Which is why I don't have a 500 or 700.  Yet.

Good luck with the cable.  On the 200 they are fiddly about being lined up exactly parallel to insert at the keyboard end.  They are pretty sturdy connectors, but mine now have slight bends -- perhaps yours got bent enough to create an intermittent gap in power or ground?  Do try another cable.

I've replaced TWO Kindle Fires because of bent microUSB connectors.  If you drop something heavy while it is attached with a microUSB connector, the connector won't release.  I love it for phones, but not for tablets or keyboards.

IMHO, keybds should come with hard-wired and strain-relieved cables.  The WASD has the very best cable in that regard.  The CM Storm QF is also good with a locking connector, but apparently that confused most 'Mericans.  :confused:

Update: I emailed PCCG, then found a dusty old spare USB and tested it out, works perfectly now. Must have just been some fault with the cord - not worth worrying over for a dollar or two though. As long as the keyboard is working ;D

nawh bro, you gotta get one of those Super high quality usb cables with shielding and interference deleting nub thingy...
