Judge Dredd 2012, Your thoughts?

I finally saw it  :D

The return of Robocop level of R-rated violence, and slight misogyny .

It was okay, I'm surprised it got such a high rating on IMDB though.
7.4 is kinda high for a bunch of people running around killing others with a shallow story line, but then again I've never read the comic or knew too much about it so maybe I'm missing something

It was "OK". They went a little to crazy with the slow motions thing -_-

for a better "omg we're trapped in a tower and all the residents are trying to kill us" watch "the raid" 8x better with that plot point. For a main character uphold the law at all costs half face cop with a blond girl sidekick, robocop 1 and 2 still hold up better. overall still a pretty good picture, don't try to compare it to other movies and just judge it (not punn intended) on it's own and it's pretty good, breakout star imo is anderson the girl olivia thirlby.

haha.. I think Anderson had the hardest job in the film, to wear a forced frown on his face the entire time... unlike Stallone who had a natural frown

Olivia looks really weird in the movie, I think it was cuz they dyed her hair, but not her eyebrows.

The main thing that puts me off is the casting of Karl Urban as Dredd. I don't know why he always seems to get cast in that type of role when he's utterly fails to be physically imposing or intimidating in any way, let alone playing a character like Dredd, who in the comics has the appearance of a tough, grizzled, and somewhat ugly 60+ year old man.

Ha, as i was watching Dredd this summer, i didn't know the plot before i came in, like a third or halfway through the movie i'm like what the ****! this is like " The Raid: Redemption"  Movie was entertaining; not really worth going to the theater like i did though.

If they had more money... they could've done the "city-version" of this film.. but I don't think the budget allowed for it.
