I saw this keyboard posted on r/mk, and I was wondering if anyone had any knowledge of this keyboard? It seems pretty cool:

I thought it would be the new mkc board but that's pretty cheap... like cheaper than Vortex. I wanna buy one to check it out. Maybe our China vendors know something?

damn it.. why does it have that ridiculous design...  I don't want to see all the dust collecting under my keys.. I know some of you think it'll be "easy to clean" this way, it certainly IS NOT, because you have to remove the corresponding caps to clean certain areas...

Can't you use air in a can or something similar?

Cleaning is doable for sure.. It's just that I'd rather not have to do it so often.. like once a year tops... with an open bezel design like that you'd probably have to clean every 2 months... ...

Pretty cool if you're into it. First time I've seen a TKL (or any other board for that matter) with a case like that that isn't the Corsair K90.

My signature hasn't changed since 2012. I should really update it.

After losing my very first gaming keyboard to liquids, despite the advertised drainage holes... I've learned to use water bottle with "straw" attachment... Have yet to have a spill issue since....

I hope the similarity ends there.. K90 and K60 were total crap and unusable keyboards.

Yeah I think the main idea is that it's open so you see what is collecting, rather than just one day feeling like you want to clean your keyboard.

Personally I think it'd be cool to try out. Kina minimalist. But I'm agreed, the site looks sketchy!

I quite like it also. I think I will order black one... but probably look for other source. I am not sure about this taobao tmall reseller/agent. Also there is 3 other listing for this board on that site for $10 less. Soulds like it only have black switch available right now, but possibly other case colors. I see some listing for green, orange, blue, red, etc...

I think most of not all of it is plastic. Does it explicitely say aluminium anywhere in chinese?
Look at the foot and bottom corner for instance

I was going off of a ripster post saying it was aluminium, so I could be wrong.

Ripster would not claim that without cause, so it may be so. I can't read chinese, so I have no idea if it is stated in the images or not. It just looks a bit plastic-y to me. The underside and feet are definately not aluminium however.

Top shell could be aluminum with plastic bottom, would certainly make sense with the cost, and also there is nothing saying it is not like soda can thin alluminum either over plastic... unless someone buy one and tells us we can't know. Even still if it is cheap like that as long as it look nice and interal build quality is good I don't see a problem.

It pretty much can't just be thin aluminium foil because of the nice corners. Achieving those with thin foil would require a tool to punch it into that shape in one piece, which is very expensive in low volumes because of the tool cost. It seems unreasonable. A thicker aluminium shell as you suggested, made by some other method might be true though. It doesn't look milled however, as the corners and edges seem a bit irregular for that. Casting is again expensive in these quantities. I would love to have a closer look at it if it indeed is aluminium.

If they used a thin material they could vaccum form it, that is not expensive method. I was more or less saying that even if they cheaped out and use some thin material as a decorative rather than structural material over a plastic shell I wouldn't have an issue with that for the price.

Apparently we've already had a thread on this keyboard o.0 http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=37816.0
and no one really seemed to know anything about it.

To me, it looks like it is stamped, folded, then welded.

The picture does say all metal outer shell. Other says no top-cover stylish design.
