I think they use the same spring. you'd need to find springs heavier than black

First time I've ever heard that.  You must have some Arnold Schwarzenegger fingers.  I think you may be out of luck if you want heavier than mx green springs.  The only other spring I know of is a super black, but good luck finding enough for an entire board.  Super blacks are rare birds.

I read somewhere that ballpoint pen springs are heavier. Not sure if they'd fit though.

If greens are too lite, try cherry mx clear springs

Greens are heavier SWITCHES than blacks. Same spring. Higher actuation weight comes from the tactile bump (similar to how Reds/Browns have the same spring as Blues, but blues are slightly heavier switches.)

NO. Green and white have the same springs as greys, which are indeed heavier than both black and clear.

Is that so? I tried swapping between clear and white springs with a clear stem and felt little to no difference in the force required (the clear spring is shorter & has less windings, however).

Really? Because Blacks and Greens look like they have the same springs.

Sure they might look same, but there is a 20cN difference and the click mechanism can't add that much.

The grays look like they're made of stiffer material. There's also Ghetto Greens (Blues with Black springs.) Anyone have a comparison of the 2 handy?

It wouldn't exactly be all that cheap to get 87 pen springs together.

Hmm, I think this might be a troll post.  I don't think this is actually a serious post, because it's simply too ridiculous.

OP, you are trying to pull a goof here, aren't you?

what?

why would it be a troll post?
most wikis say that the blacks have a actuation force of 60g and the greens 80g.
so people might think that they have different springs.

wasn't trolling I accidently press buttons on the greens and I don't on my blacks so I figured the green had lighter springs
was considering trying the black springs on the greens but since they are the same not much point in it

I thought they "WERE" in fact the same springs, but because the special "nub-slider" on the green shaft causes that extra friction bringing it up to 80
