Nope. How can I wear headphones with these on? Virtual Boy 2.0 if you ask me. Microsoft Illumiroom looks cool though.

Why would you be unable to wear headphones? It's just a pair of goggles an elastic band stretching around your head. I think in one interview they had noted that they'd like to include high quality earpeices in either the consumer or future releases.

The virtual boy is stone age compared to this, because the virtual boy had the console built in. These are apparently much easier to wear. All this is, is a replacement monitor that connects to your game system. The main guy behind it (Palmer Luckey?) is a VR enthusiast, and he basically built this because this is the VR he's wanted his whole life, and nobody else cared to make it.

This looks absolutely AWESOME!, but I'm not sure if I'll be getting it until they make a SBC that has the capabilities of the computer that I'm on right now (not AMAZING, but can play TF2 at max settings). I would also appreciate a way to use keyboard and mouse with it :P

I think it might be overbearing if you had it on all the time.

Or maybe not.

MSRP is set for 300 bucks. That's about twice the price of a crap monitor and half the cost of a good one.

Honestly I think when this gets released we're going to see a rash of injuries like when the wii came out. People walking into walls or falling over because they're reacting to something in the game. I think it will create such a sensation of being in that world, that people are going to start acting like they're in that world and hurt themselves lol

300 bucks....im belgining to question the image quality

it's only a 7 inch screen magnified to fill up your face. Unlike most VR headsets it has one panel split in half. instead of 2 separate panels.

Here are the specs for the dev kit and the consumer release.

Developer kit: 1280×800 (640×800 per eye)
Consumer version: >=1920x1080

I'll try it before I pass judgment but I like the numbers for the consumer version better than the dev kit.

Then again there are reporters and the like trying the dev kit and being blown away.
