it's not as fun once you beat it once.. because you KNOW that it's all based on Luck... if you don't get the right upgrades by chance, you're screwed..

FTL is kind of like monopoly.
Without some good luck, you can't win at all..
But that doesn't mean you can't get better at the game and know how to strategically minimize the luck factor.

well, you're right... but also alike to monopoly, you don't actually have "that many" different moves you can make...

Best PC game of all times has to be Raptor - Call of Shadows

It's SERIOUSLY good, and has tremendous "Flow" to the experience...

Looks like an everyday scroller shooter, but with simple RPG element.. Tight control... awesomeness.  :D

Show Image

I played this a massive amount as a child along with Solar Winds and Traffic Department 2192, and still replay it on occasion. The simplified RPG elements made it stand out from similar games, as well as the vague corporate-dystopia setting.

My all time favourite are probably Deus Ex, Thief 2, Majora's Mask and Sam and Max Hit the Road.

Gunz: the Duel

I've spent countless hours on this free-to-play third-person shooter since I discovered it in Jr. high. It's like a Matrix arena game that requires a lot of double-tapping and simultaneous keypresses. I didn't play this continuously, but every time I had the itch to rapidly tap on keys, I'd think about playing it. You can see how that led me towards mechanical keyboards. =P

A PC Games list would be so long, so only the ones that really stood out in my memory will be listed.
Baldur's Gate 1 + 2
Dragon's Age: Origins
Darksiders
Dark Souls
Assassin's Creed II
Batman: Arkham Asylum
Batman: Arkham City
F.E.A.R. (I only found the first one good. It scared the **** out of my friends).
Mirror's Edge
Heroes of Might and Magic
Witcher
Witcher 2: Assassin of Kings
Ultima Online (back when it was in its hey day).

My favorite game of all time is the third Splinter Cell: Choas Theory.

I have played through that game a billion times and I know all the dialog by heart. Sam Fisher is also my favorite video game character of all time too.

Well, if you're talking about the best games of all time, you have to consider the following series of games that are the basis for all FPS games that came afterward:

Doom Series (started all FPS)
Quake Series
Half-Life Series
Thief Series (first stealth game)
Grand Theft Auto Series (sandbox gaming & vehicles)
Hitman Series (innovative for stealth and disguise)

Other Giants of Gaming:

Warcraft Series
Starcraft Series
Elder Scrolls Series (including ofc, Oblivion, and Skyrim)

And my personal favorites (in addition to all games listed above):

FEAR series
Red Faction Series (1 & 2)
Resident Evil Series (terrible console-port interface, but awesome games anyway)
Left4Dead 1 & 2
FarCry Series
No One Lives Forever 1 & 2

Counter Strike (1.6/ Source/ GO) and Battlefield (2, 1942, 3)

Starcraft and Starcraft 2

Those are my favorite games from my fav genres.

I've logged a staggering number of hours on both.  My favorite was threewave ctf back in the day.  I stopped playing QL because a client update caused it to be laggy and unplayable on my computer, and they weren't interested in trying to fix it.

MMO - Eve Online
PC Other - Freelancer, TF2, The Sims
NES - Battletoads (Yes I am that good.)
N64 - Golden Eye (is there any other acceptable answer?)
PS2 - Klonoa's Revenge (strange one to have as a favorite but I liked it the most)
PS1 - Metal Gear Solid (the original)

I'd say another acceptable answer for N64 would be Super Smash Bros (multiplayer).

I would LOVE if QuakeLive was in the same style of the original Quake.  Q1 will always be in my heart.

I'd say another acceptable answer for N64 would be Super Smash Bros (multiplayer).

I could never play the N64 without getting motion sickness.  The only title I played/enjoyed was Killer Instinct.

Freelancer was the first time in my life I was acting as a business man.  On the multi player server I'd go and collect all of the level 10 guns from all of the wrecks under an account called WANTED_CRIMINAL -- the funniest part was that this was an alternate account, I was actually part of the server administrators, responsible for keeping the peace.  Was being a dirty cop in the game :)

I'd then go sell those special weapons back to the people I stole them from, whether I got to the wreck first or whether I killed them and stole the guns from them again :)

WANTED_CRIMINAL, well known on that server for sure.

"Why does he only show up after server restarts?"

Super smash brothers is a classic, although I started to get sick of its simplicity.
