LOL this is turning into a Gundam thread.

I think my hobby went something like this:  MG Gundams  ->  Samurai Sword Replica (Cheap Ones)  ->  Keyboard/Mouse  ->  DSLR (Very briefly because it's sooooooo expensive)  ->  Back to Keyboard/Mouse

Though I'd say Gundam models aren't too bad on average MG are around $100 each, but at this point I'd rather get keyboard/keycaps/mouse lol.

lol get MG Wing Gundam instead, PG Wing was developed really early and I heard it's not very nicely done.

While MG Wing Gundam was made recently so the quality is better.

There's been a few MGs that I'm tempted to buy, but there hasn't been any that made feel like OMG I MUST BUY THIS.

Zeta Ver. 2.0 and Freedom Gundam were those 2 suits  :D

What's the difference between MG and PG? I'm guessing MG means Master Grade... but what does PG mean?

PG means perfect grade.  ;D

Perfect Grade

The highest quality kits are known as PG (Perfect Grade, introduced in 1998). These 1:60 scale models are made of even higher quality plastic and metal components. These kits include parts that have to be secured with screws, and often require some minor wiring for small LEDs. The market for the Perfect Grade level of models is limited due to the higher cost, often topping $200. Perfect Grade models are a true challenge and their construction can take a few days. If you're only going to buy 1 gundam kit.. then get a PG, because MG and below are quite "small" for display...

PG jumps out more...

Um.... 2 feet? Only if you include the action stand... and have big weapons pointed upwards. :D

you can also get those "Big Scale" ones whatever they call lol.
I have at my parents home Strike Freedom Lightning Edition, Strike Gundam (Striker Weapon System), and a Freedom Gundam.
Funny thing being my dad wanted me to put them on the entertainment shelf in the living room, so our TV entertainment cabinet has 3 huge gundams on it lol.

Actually if this is your first time getting Gundam model kit, I don't recommend starting with PG.  Your brain will explode from all the parts that come with.

You can start with the regular 1/100 scale ones they are typically decent size and quality.  After you get used to it I'd suggest you go for 1/100 MG ones since they're in my opinion a good size and good amount of details.

PG 1/60 is too big for me since I don't have that kind of display space or money (runs $250-300) at the moment.

Actually spending that much on one would be the hardest part. But I would love to build one. The biggest one! Hah

lol yeah it goes something like this:

1/144
1/144 HG
1/144 RG
1/100
1/100 MG
1/60
1/60 PG

1/144 in my opinion is too small, though 1/144 HG has decent amount of details and 1/144 RG just hurt your eyes.  It's tiny and has A LOT of details.

1/100 is what I'd normally recommend it's cheap, decent quality and big enough.  Though typically I only buy 1/100 MG myself.

1/60 is pretty big but it's usually very lacking in details, so it look a bit plain at times.  1/60 PG is basically big and has lots of details but expensive.

And depends on how hardcore you get some people would airbrush them but I'm too cheap so I just get a fine thin marker and marker in the detail lines.  You can use eraser if you draw it wrong somehow it will erase markers on plastic.

http://dalong.net/  is a pretty good Gundam site this guy buys everything there is.  Granted we can't read Koreans but it's nice to see the pictures, you can navigate through the top.

http://dalong.net/review/mg/m72/m72_p.htm  This was the one tp4tissue used to make that keycap  :P

relating to the OP, i think tp4tissue's cap is instantly recognizable therefore is better, being serious.

though i have nothing against people buying GirlDC caps; i just hope the people buying them aren't strapped for cash because that would be money better spent on other stuff here at wallet rape hack.

If people are strapped for cash and want to spend what little funds they have on a novelty keycap... thats on them...
