what makes the g400 so great? i keep seeing everyone talk about how good it is. I currently have g9 at home and i'm looking to pick something up for the office.
I personally have used the G400, G500 and G9X for long periods of time and i prefer the G9X but the G400 is the successor for the MX518 which is until today is considered my a lot of people to be the best gaming mouse of all times.
The G400 has a very nice and sturdy grip for large handed palm griping users and a sensor that is considered to be very reliable with high accuracy.
It's about precision rather than accuracy'... there's no "true" value to the translation of hand movements.
the reason G400 is the best mouse out now.. is because it provides high "precision" tracking with no "acceleration".. coupled with great support from logitech, software and warranty.
All current Laser sensors have +/- 5% acceleration... this might not be very much.. HOWEVER, why put up with it... when "higher" dpi has been proven to be useless as it already greatly exceeds screen pixels...
G400 has perfect tracking with no acceleration.. while it supports 3600dpi, it is actually best to use 800 dpi, because higher dpi actually causes larger rounding in calculations, which depending on the surface it's tracking could cause "jitters"
This rounding problem is also true in High DPI laser mices....
This is less likely to happen with 800dpi..
The case is, More is not better...
