Filco MJ2 cherry mx blue TKL
« on: Tue, 26 March 2013, 22:04:02 »
I received a TKL filco cherry mx blue keyboard for christmas I own a 104 filco cherry mx blues so I don't see a point in keeping it. I was wondering what the community thinks its worth? It's brand new in the package and has the dust cover,ps/2 adapter, and the pamphlet. I was wondering if anyone is interested as well if so send a PM but i'd like to know the value of this now a days since back then they were harder to get.

I would say keep it 10 bucks below of the original price on amazon and see what happens.

they are just a little overpriced for what they are since the QFR is out and pretty much 95% of the quality for 50% of the price.

Yup.. QFR broke up the elitist filco circle jerk... Its very existence make filco owners look stupid...  I for one was highly offended by the QFR when it came out...   I've accepted it however, and now am a proud owner...

That said.. the QFR has fallen on some quality issues, may be CM's problem, may be Cherry Corp's problem...

Point is.. Do not buy for the rest of the year...

I have used the QFR side by side with my filco MJ2 TKL and really, there is no obvious difference between the two. At least not without taking them apart. That said, I am still happy with my Filco. One of the major reasons not to get the QFR where I live is that the ones sold here have the ISO layout and not all the switch types are offered. I could import, but there would be the additional shipping cost, and I have been burned before by customs, making me pay taxes (essentially I pay more than twice the VAT) plus an additional fee for incurred administration costs...
