Tax is around, 50. I just bought this monitor from dell using their gift card promotion (purchase 400$ get 75$), and this was on dell's AU website for 569 I believe. I called for a price match and they offered $599 so the total came out to 642 with tax and shipping. So I paid around 575 for this shipped =). Price might even be lower depending on your bargaining skills with the dell customer rep.

You should only get taxed from Newegg I believe if you live in California or whatever states have a Newegg warehouse. This is not buying directly from Dell, it's from Newegg.

JUST letting you guys know.. THIS IS NOT the same monitor as the $700 ccfl back-lit ones.

This only covers 79% of the Adobe RGB space, while the ccfl version covers 100%+

There's a HUGE difference......

This monitor is really only "worth" $500, it should've never been $700-800 to begin with, and it was never meant to be..

it's a "cut down" version...

Dell, was testing the water with this monitor.

So if this monitor is only worth $500 then that must mean that there are comparable monitors on the market that are in fact ~$500 with the exact, or similar, specs (27", 2560x1440, LED backlit, IPS (of whatever flavor), 79% Adobe RGB, reputable brand, warranty, A panel (or is it A+?), multiple inputs, OSD, USB 3.0 hub, decent stand, 100mm VESA, etc).

Is there such a monitor for less than $550?  For that price I think Korean off ebay, or monoprice but then when those are mentioned you say they lack half of the list I wrote above (which they do).

I'm curious, what monitor(s) are on your wish list and do you own them?

my point is, THIS IS NOT a comparable monitor to the $700 models... and people often confuse them.. this monitor is absolute crap in comparison...

Just because there isn't ANOTHER crappy $500 monitor, doesn't make "this one" any better...

So it's the KING of mediocrity.. wooooo...!!

I am waiting for that damn sharp 32" to come out,

as I've said, i've given away my last 3007, so right now just using my viewsonic from highschool.

If the 32" doesn't come out in a few more months, hopefully the 3014 wfp will..

and when the sharp 4k 32 comes out, i'll just give the 3014 to my mom though, it'd be somewhat wasted since she only browses internet...
