Suggestions on 2560x1440/1600 monitor?
« on: Thu, 28 March 2013, 14:46:54 »
Had a customer looking for a high quality IPS panel. She does photography so would probably be looking for something ultra high resolution. She's currently looking at the Dell u2410, which is only 1920x1200.

Keeping costs down would be a plus, (~500?) but if there's a price point that needs to be met for this then fire away.

Currently considering the ASUS PB278Q. a bit above the price point at 650, though. . . Ideas?

EDIT: Also, is there really any point going past 1920x1080 if you're on a 23" monitor? would it be noticable? I think that's what she was considering. We could bump it up to a 27" if that would be a huge difference.

Thanks in advance, guys!

LOLOL.. she does photography.....

it's not really that important which monitor unless she does "PRINT"

And in which case you need "2" monitors.. one calibrated for the printer, and one for the desktop work.

If she's just amateur, yay, look at me, I can takez pictars...  Then really let her know that it "DOESN"T" matter.

DO NOT get one of those 27" for photoshop... taller monitors are better for shop... 16:10

The ghetto priced 27'' and 30" are of terrible quality... and for photoshop, dead pixels WILL bother the user more, because there's nothing "MOVING" on the screen to take your attention away from the dead pixels..

Well, the extra screen space on a 2560x1440 27" panel is nice.

If you want an affordable 27, look at the Overlord range, since they're American-supported and have a fairy good no-dead-pixel guarantee available.
