Keyboard with detachable cable, but not located under the keyboard?

Hey,
I'm trying to find a decent mechanical keyboard with a detachable cable that is looked at the back of the keyboard, but not under it like QFR.



I know some of the keyboards with this.

  • Korean boards
  • NEO KB 87
  • Ducky 1087

My budget isn't crazy high to purchase something for like 500 $. Max 200 $ for now. But yea, just want to know what kind of keyboards have that feature.

forgot to add. I'm looking for TKL keyboard. But umm that Neo KB 87 looks kinda okay but I'm not so sure about having the pcb exposed :O

Does it have to be modern? Do you have switch requirements (cherry, topre, etc)? Do you want to buy it from a retailer?

If not, you could consider the IBM Model M Spacesaver (it's a TKL Model M). If this is for constant transport, I might not recommend the Spacesaver because of its weight and the plastic clips that hold the detachable cable in. If it is for occasional transport it might fit your needs.

You will have to get it from another person, so it might take some time to find the right price.

You can get NIB model M's for less than $100 shipped on ebay. I prefer the really old ones, but those are harder to find. Used SSK's have often gone for $200-$300 on the other hand.

A relatively cheap option for a keyboard which has this feature is the Rosewill RK-9000.

Just out of curiosity, why do you want a keyboard with a cable like this?

How about the poker? I am pretty sure the usb cable plugs into the back on the side.

I want to have one to use at campus and it's nice to just unplug the board and take it with me instead of going behind the tower. Having it behind and not under the keyboard is just something I prefer.
I don't need the numpad but I do need the functions keys and del, home etc :)

I'm not buying one right now (Poor student yooooooo), just wanted to check what kind of keyboards are available cause I'm sure i've missed some. Didn't know about matias :)

Another solution (if you don't care about NKRO) is to get a usb extender (male to female) and plug that in to your computer. Then you can put the female side at an easy access point so you can plug and unplug your keyboard as you please. Not only will it solve your needs, it also protects from frequent use of the port on the keyboard which is known to cause problems (especially on Rosewills).
