Neo KB-87 ii

Hey guys I'm looking to buy an Neo KB-87 ii, just wondering if anyone has had any experience with this board would like to give me a little feed back. Also it only comes with MX Cherry Black switches which are a little to heavy for me, is there a way I could possibly switch them over without soldering (I have little to no experience with soldering) to MX reds for instance?

A quick glance at the picture leads me to believe that this board is plate mounted. You'll need to solder/desolder the switches in order to swap the Blacks out.

I've also never heard of this brand or seen this board until this post. So unfortunately, I cannot offer an opinion one way or another.

Upon further trundling I found this http://imgur.com/a/FSQJG it seems to me he has swapped the switches out here without desoldering? Possibly just a change of stems and springs?

It isn't plate mounted. It's PCB mounted. So yes you can open up switches without desoldering.

Got 2nd generation already?

BTW, the 1st gen is indeed a PCB mounted board.

As far as I know the only real difference in II version is improved wireless function. Back when first one came out it had generally favorable review except for the wireless functions. It is I think still only PCB mount tenkeyless keyboard available. It comes with nice quality POM Cherry profile keycaps as stock. If I was looking to buy a tenkeyless I would definitely go for one of these.

That's great. Contacted the supplier earlier, said he would be able to ship one with MX Cherry Red switches. Thanks for all the help guys :D
