My friend just sent me this link today, thought it was pretty neat.

I wonder how they know what they sent you previously, or if they have new stuff coming in all the time. I might try it out for a couple of months.

One of my friends sent me a link to that a couple days ago. The idea is kinda cool, but I feel like I'd accumulate too much junk or stuff that I'd never use. Plus, I'd rather pay for something that I know I want/will make use of.

I would keep the cool stuff, and give away the stuff I don't want or plan to use/keep.

There is a similar website where you send them $10 and they ship you something random. Someone in my class got a iPhone case (unlucky,) and a kindle fire (lucky.)

So...

This is for the people who are  So-epic-lazy  that they don't even want to decide on what they want.. just pick for me? :D

Overall, I feel like this is a way for retailers to get rid of overstocked crap toys that don't sell.

I look at it as them selling the childhood Christmas feeling every month.

Yeah, looking at the lootcrate history, it's all crap over crap all over again.
Guess it's a ripoff really. You get stickers, cards, candies, plushy stuff and collectible made-in-china crap you will never collect... It looks like that all the ****ty stuff from thinkgeek but instead of choosing your crap you get random crappy crap crap.

It would be a deal if it was electronics stuff like a DIY servo-motor arm kit or an Arduino starter kit. They could even give you generic stuff you could actually need like a 3.5 audio cable or a Thumb Drive or RC toys.

They could even raise the stacks with Raspberry Pi and Kindle Ink Reader. Now i would pay more than 20$ for that.

1. What isn't made in China anymore? Especially with toys...
2. If you consider retail value of the things they are selling, you are still getting a deal
3. Doesn't sound like any of this stuff is things you care to collect, so why bother commenting at all?

If you look at the sample packs from different months, it's really not that bad. Especially 'March Cosmos' - those star wars figures are about $10 on ebay. And pretty decent quality. If you had the 6 month plan, you are only paying 11 bucks a month, so it's not a bad deal at all. Again, if you are into this stuff, it's a good deal. You aren't into this stuff.

Dude, let's say i recieve a box. I recieve one random figurine. yay!

Now how do you get the whole collection?
You gotta buy them all individually.
Nice deal. You get the first one for a good price, now lurk for the rest.

Cash grabbing.

I'm fairly sure you think anything normally accepted in capitalistic society is a cash grab now.

Indeed.

But hey there's a difference between junk and a real collection. Let's say stamps or medals, now that's a real collection; there's limited quantity of these masterworks over the world and each of them has an historical value!

Some Star Wars bubble head made in 2013 aren't worth to be called collectibles.

It's strictly your own personal opinion as to what is 'junk' or what is 'collectible'.

Indeed, but i'd say the price speaks for itself. If you collect rare masterworks, you'll manage to sell it for big bucks later on. My dads friend was collecting old American rifles, a while ago he managed to sell his collection many times the total price he paid to build it to a bigger collector in Texas.

I don't know much about guns (Canadians have no guns lol) but i bet piercing holes in animal heads is much cooler with an M1 Garand or a Springfield carbine than with a M4A1 right?

On the side, sorry i might have sound a little mean towards you... :( We can still be friends :)

I actually signed up for lootcrate because of brocaps post and I think its grate for what it is.

I rarely get 'gifts' and certainly nothing unexpected, so for a few dollars I get a surprise every month.

June's box had a T-shirt that was pretty cool.

And after looking around the web there are lots of different monthly 'box' subscriptions out there.
