Hey, I'm very sorry for the stupid topic i posted yesterday, and even if it prolly has placed an "idiot" permamark over my head or something like that, i promise it won't happen again.

@#$ happens. I have not read the post but did see the topic. As long as you did not make it with bad intentions, I think it was just an error in judgement. I have made plenty of those, both on forums and in real life.

or better undelete that thread!
(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.

Oh, that's serious...

Suicidal-tendencies are always due to feelings of hopelessness..

The reason people will kill themselves; it is always under the pretense that WITHIN their individual lifetime, they will not achieve their aim.

^^ This can happen, because our individual lifespan is short.

However, this depressive state is only triggered when one is detached from community goals.

This occurs more in modern times due to heavy internet use and solo-privacy driven lifestyles

While it has bolstered our acquisition of unique personalities, it has taken away some of our emotional and intellectual connection to "each other".

If you are solely under the "me and myself" faith,  then suicidal tendencies are inevitable, because as ONE man, a short life and inevitably quick death is all anyone amounts to.

But realize that we are all small stepping stones in "humanity's "  journey through existence.

We do not often speak of it these days, but it's certainly true that we coexist.

If you would like to talk more about killing yourself, feel free to PM..

I think about it all the time.. In fact that is my default state..

example:..  Omg, my sponge cake burned.... Agggh... I'ma kill myself...   Immediately, i rationalize, well it wouldn't bring back my sponge cake.

Then, i make another one, and feel better.  :D

It was one of those topics of which nothing good could come.

I don't necessarily think that topic needed to be locked. It's a valid subject of discussion, and to be honest I think part of the over-arching problem is the average person's aversion to discussing it openly and frankly. It's something that happens, and I think that rational and intelligent people can have a thoughtful and useful discussion about it.

Yes, rational and intelligent people can.. But quite often when people who aren't rational or intelligent start to discuss it, it can become quite an unpleasant topic.
