Humble Origin Bundle
« on: Wed, 14 August 2013, 14:05:09 »
Current minimum price of $4.60 and you can get the following games:

Dead Space, Dead Space 3, Mirror's Edge, Battlefield 3, Sims 3, Crysis 2 Maximum Edition, Burnout Paradise: Ultimate box, and Medal of Honor.

My bad! Forgot to add the link to the deal: http://www.humblebundle.com (plus I assumed everyone knew where it was).

I don't use Origin, nor do I care to, but it's a good deal for some good games regardless.

edit: Upon closer inspection - it looks like 5 of the games come with Steam keys as well. The games that come with Steam keys are: Mirror's Edge, Dead Space, Crysis 2 Maximum Edition, Medal of Honor and Burnout Paradise: Ultimate Box

After purchase you get individual codes for each game via origin AND steam if available. Otherwise you get the exclusive (BF3 is origin only, etc)

I tend to buy games at least 6 to 12 months after they are released - much cheaper.  Plus I usually have upgraded my PC so it can run them by then.

At the moment I am several years behind an upgrade, so I'm not sure if it will run any of these (Dead Space it won't - already got that one).

But this kind of deal it too good to miss :)

Funny some humble bundles get no response others are hot potatoes.

THis one contains AAA titles from a well-known publisher.

Most bundles are a collection of random Indie titles that not everyone has heard of.

I think the only NFS game I ever really liked was prosche unleashed I gave up on the franchise entirely after underground 2 (and should have saved some time and given up after underground 1)

Eventually I'll buy it again and play it. I really enjoyed that game.

my co-worker was playing mirrors edge today.

Btw, it's Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 - Uprising, which is a standalone expansion to Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3. :D

Also, if you purchased the bundle before the games were added, you get them for free, regardless if you paid over the average or not. Yay!

Oh wow, I had never heard of it, and just assumed it was a new game.  What am I missing here?  Is it a remake? Or did they put in a 23yr old PC game to the bundle?

Edit: yep, looks like it's a 23yr old game.

Yeah, "standalone expansion" means that you don't require the base game in order to play.

I wasted hours back in the day playing Populous.  Nearly bought it off GoG.

It should even run in DOSBox or similar on the Mac!
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

You sure? Sims 3 had the name of the expansion but came with the base aswell? Anyone confirm?

Yeah, "standalone expansion" means that you don't require the base game in order to play.

second question, does anyone still play red alert uprising, I would be up for it..
