instead of us flipping SP spacebars.....

Why don't we just ask them to round off that edge? How hard is it for them to change the mold?

They'd either have to make a new mold, or they'd have to fill part of that mold. Most likely the former. And if they did, they'd have to made new molds for every cap on the bottom two rows, because they all have the same angle.

about $3000 hard.

The SP keycaps are intended for a somewhat steeper angle than most of the keyboards we use (presumably they are more common on POS keyboards, or whatever SP's main customers are) so it' snot too bad if you have your KB up at a steep angle. Additionally, changing the spacebar (pretty much at all) would require a new mould to be made. I think things like adding posts for a more "universal" fit is something that they can modify their existing moulds with, but chanigng he profile of the spacebar entirely would almost surely require a whole new mould.

They wouldnt HAVE to change the other molds. But point taken.

Why don't you just order DSA spacebars from them? They don't have the same sharpness. In fact, we should start offering DSA spacebars with all GBs, for those who cut themselves on the DCS knifebar.

Search for the WYSE moogle or WYSE tsangan IC or GBs. One or more of them had color codes.

i always rock a backwards space unless i am using my SA R4 set.  but on the boards that have the backward space i wouldn't want the mods swapped. i like the look of the odd comfy spacebar by itself.

DSA is good,  but not REVERSE OEM profile good.

the OEM bar is Taller, making it awesome, because on standard staggered qwerty, you need a higher thumb key

I use my DSA spacebar flipped.

just kidding, though interestingly enough, the DSA spacebar won't work with my spacebar stabilizer. I'll have to swap it out for a cherry one sometime. This shows that the spacing is either very slightly different, or the margins aren't good enough on my stabilizer wire.

Ultimately, getting better molds for SP would be probably the best solution, but it's also the most expensive.

People always let me know that there's something wrong with my spacebar whenever I break out the Poker at school or work.

Flipped spacebar is so comfy though, even on non SP caps I still flip it.

I've never experienced pain from SP spacebars either but I position my hands a bit weird when I type.

Its mostly only an issue when gaming actually, when my thumb is resting on the space bar almost constantly. It rests right on the sharp angle at the bottom of the key.

I just threw my trusty IMSTO space on there. It matches the grey WYSE mods, problem solved. :}

It is a great all around universal, black, spacebar.  I use it on my custom keyboard and it is just chunky and awesome.  I'd probably use something nicer if I ever found it, but I love the shape.
