How to safely remove CM Quickfire Rapid Top Panel?
« on: Sat, 24 August 2013, 15:37:16 »
I just purchased a replacement top panel for my Quickfire Rapid...and I can't for the life of me get the original top panel off--at least, without worrying about damaging it.

Any tips, please?

Thanks :)

LOL.

You need a pry tool,  OR some sort of rigid flat plastic.

do the FRONT edge first, the one opposite the usb port.

Replacement covers come with a white plastic cover opener.  Use the thin sharper end to slide it between the bottom of the keyboard and the top along the sides and you'll hear the plastic tab pop open as you slide the tool along.  (Remove the screw under the "do not remove" sticker first).  That tool is the best I have used to date--much better than credit cards.

I've been using putty knives (plastic or metal) to pop mine open.  They work perfectly.  The plastic thing you described sounds like it's similar.
