Any MX Clear Keyboard
« on: Tue, 03 September 2013, 20:39:33 »
Wondering what keyboard is good with clear switches. I was hoping to get a WASD keyboard, but it seems to takes some time before they are rolling out. So i am looking for a possible alternative. Does anyone have a suggestion?
My budget allows me to spend around $150 Dollars. If i can get it cheaper the better.

Thanks for any consideration. :)

The WASD Code or some Cherry boards. I forget the model numbers on the Cherry stuff though.

This deck has clears (a bit expensive though). Apart from this one and the WASD code I don't know any others.

Yep, typing on a FC660M Clear with PBT key caps and it's fast becoming my fave MX keyboard. Clear is the new Brown! It has a more define bump, is stiffer.....what's not to like?

I have an FC660M with clears. I like it but haven't used it much lately. If you're interested let me know.

Thanks for the suggestions. They look all good. Only thing is, i need a full keyboard w/numpad. I just can't get used to have the numpad missing.
Not sure how long WASD keyboard will take before they ship with clear (checked this week and only blue was available) but i consider the DECK even though its over my budget.

Do we know that the Code, once restocked, will use MX Clears? I've read rumors that there is a wide shortage of Clear switches, and that the next round of Code boards will use one of the more common switches (for example, see this this poll from WASD's website).

it's a crummy rehash of the antiquated stag-werty which we've seen 1000x over.. waste of money..

CM Storm was rumored to have a very limited batch of MX Clear QFR's but so far not a peep out of them.

I thought the last Carter said there was a bad batch of clears or some sort of delay with them.

Edit found this:

Any news on clears?

Delayed, long story but it its at least another 1.5 months out. Trying our best but switch availability changes daily.

I believe the keycool 2013 limited edition is using clears. Its price is kind of steep though. On the English version of the website i didn't see the keyboard though only the Chinese version.

Cheapest options would be G80, like a 1800HQU or 3000LQCEU. Should be able to find one for under $80 new for current 3000, possible cheaper or more for older models with doubleshots depending on source.

If i search for G80-3000LQC (no EU version) i can not find it. As far as i was able to gather is the fact that Cherry discontinued the clear switch versions.

I guess i will wait until WASD has their clear version available.

I have a G80-3000LQCEU-2, and they are most certainly not discontinued. I don't understand why there are all these rumors of reds and clears being discontinued in these last few years.

Here's a link to one for much cheaper than I got mine like 2? years ago. -> http://www.linkecomputer.com/products/1017190/G80-3000LQCEU-2/Cherry/
