No, soldering wouldn't make any difference in this case. I suppose there was some limitations to how "programmable" it is. With that being said, if you really want to do something, perhaps you should just look into a GH60 and sell the Poker II? Or try to wire a Teensy up with it?
No dude, You CAN mod this with soldering.
It's completely straight forward.
Dremel a slit into the "current traces for that key, and bridge it to the key you "want it to be".
This is fine for single key and modifier swaps, obviously you wouldn't do the whole board like this...
Although I did do it for a buddy of mine that had to swap 14 of the keys to different places.
