I can be extreme, you should know this already.

Can we get them to build the Alps ten feet higher and get Cherry to pay for it?

This was my morning today, no embellishment needed:

Selling headphones on kijiji

Guy tells me he's interested, long back and forth about condition and ownership etc

Finally he says he wants them, but offers $100 less then what I'm asking

**** it, I need the money badly right now. Agree to his price.

Long back and forth about when and where to meet. Tell him I don't have a car so it's difficult for me to get around town.

Finally decide on a place to meet. It's a 30min walk, but I'll do it for the money.

We set a time to meet Saturday afternoon.

Guy texts me at 7am on Saturday telling me he's running early.

I'm still asleep but **** it, I really need this money.

Roll out of bed, skip showering, and walk in a zombified state in the hot sun.

Finally get to the Starbucks and meet the guy.

Starts testing the headphones while I go get some coffee I can't really afford.

He listens for about 5 minutes before taking them off and placing them on the table.

"These are nice, but I think I'm going to have to pass unless you can knock off some more money."

I tell him that's my bottom line and he is already getting a great deal.

He says he doesn't want them but can I sit tight for just a second?

He reaches into his bag and pulls out some pamphlets, "Do you have a moment to talk about our lord and savior Jesus Christ?"

Next level preachin. You would think the price of those headphones would scare them away.  :p

I vaguely recall telling him he was an *******, then loudly yelling "****" and having everyone at the Starbucks turn around and look at me. I'm still mad almost 6hrs later.

Also, some genius has decided to prevent us from installing any other browsers on our thin clients at work. We have been downloading Google Chrome for compatibility reasons for some web applications, and even some of our windows servers have firefox and chrome on. Yes it would get removed when we logged out for security reasons, but we could always install it again.

Now we can install either firefox or chrome, the installers just break.

So I'm using:

Internet

Explorer

"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Bro that's awful. I mean really awful. So freaking wrong; I don't even know how to describe it.  As a Christian it concerns me more that he would be so dishonest and underhanded. Not all Christians are like that.

I am afraid that I must agree, although while it is sometimes true, it is not always true... I have not found a way to deal with emotion on any level. Whichever way you go, it enables/encourages greater emotionalism, even with a "yes, dear, you are totally right and I am a complete turd" only encourages greater extravagance of emotion in the next go-around.

Dunno... I'll let you know once I've had a chance to try it.

Do you have kids? My greatest fear is that my son and daughter will observe this and consider it to be normal and acceptable behavior.

Ultimately, I think the only people we can change or control are ourselves—so if nothing more, we can be models of that for them.

Bro that's awful. I mean really awful. So freaking wrong; I don't even know how to describe it.  As a Christian it concerns me more that he would be so dishonest and underhanded...

I don't think he was necessarily being dishonest or underhanded. I think he figured they'd finished the headphones part, so he'd go into his usual religion pitch—which, as it concerns one's eternal destiny and so forth, isn't subject to the same principles of taste, sensitivity or appropriateness as everything else. Or so I've heard.

Last night i decided to play some GTAV but decided to make a dank ass protein shake before playing. 2 scoops casein and a scoop of peanut butter... Well i spilled the shake on my poker...

Don't you hate that? It doesn't have to be casein with me, actually; any phosphoproteins on the ol' KB set me off.

Blocking the pedestrian crossing.  Completely.  Like ****head either didn't realise he was driving a tram.  Duh.  Or forgot about the whole rest of the tram behind him, like it's just the driver's cabin, and all those people who got on board are like just hanging in the breeze or something.  Or just doesn't care about A LOT of pedestrians trying to cross a very busy road in peak hour home commute time.

And then fvck me the lights change and another tram driver does the same thing!

Little bastard - the get on the roof, or in the roof if they can, and scratch and thump about all night, and you're not allowed to touch them because they are a protected species.  But the dirty little buggers are so full of disease if they bite you then you should head straight for the hospital and fill up on penicillin or whatever they give you these days.

At least this mongrel was heading away from our house, not like the one the other night that disappeared into the trees, rustle rustle, I know what you're up to ****head.

David Cameron is such a ****.

If it wasn't him it would be some other career politician.
It's brilliant actually, make the 'issue' be the EU, force pressure to leave EU so they can then impose there own ****ed up interpretation of 'human rights' so they can treat it's citizens like actual criminals as well as then spying on EU citizens.

UPS arranged for an inspection of the parcel they damaged.
Was due for today and no one showed or phoned.
Email them at the end of the day asking wtf
Apparently it's been settled and they have contacted the shop were I bought it to settle.
I'm given zero information on what that means only that I have to contact the shop.

Like who the **** runs a company like this?
Never EVER using UPS again. I've had ****ty service from other delivery companies, but it's never been this bad.

Someone contacted me about trading one of my caps. I was a little hesitant because the person didn't have it yet  but said it would come in a couple of days. It would have been my first clack skull so was kind of excited blah blah. I had other people that had made offers on the cap but I declined and took it off my trade page to be fair. The day comes(1 week later)and the person messages me and Says they decided to trade the cap to someone else. At least they had the balls to tell me the truth. I was upset for about 10 minutes until I realized I was literally pissed over a piece of plastic and I didn't really want to trade the initial cap anyways. Life's too short so thank you for the reminder and im glad you got the cap you really wanted  :thumb:

But according to all the 'animal lovers' who are for the pending law they have 'feelings'......

I'm all for animals being properly cared for but there has to be better things for the state legislature to deal with other than this.

Seems pretty reasonable, animal cruelty which is essentially what it's aimed at is a ****ty thing and being able to threaten people with fines etc would be a good thing imo

And I can agree with that but there are loads of people who equate making a dog live outside as being cruelty. Granted the law is for leaving them outside in extreme heat and/or cold but who determines what that is exactly? This is what concerns people, and nosy neighbors etc.

I specifically think of our postal carrier who more than once has let our dog off when we had him tied down, which we don't have to do now that we moved but before he would follow the school bus to the school and/or try and get on the bus so we'd tie him up for a few hours, next to a dog house, under a porch with food , water etc and this mail carrier would let him off and act like we were harming him somehow.

There are laws against animal cruelty already they are just making them more specific I guess you could say.

I think the biggest problem with a lot of things like this is it comes down to government micromanaging peoples lives because more often than not the true offenders continue to offend and you waste a lot of money and time on petty cases where people try and white night reporting things that aren't a problem to begin with.

Perhaps, but I tend to be of the opinion that 99% of people are literal morons and require micro managing in order to make life bearable for the 1%.
I know what your saying but given that they used 'extreme' I would imagine it would be weather that could be proven or seen to be doing harm to an animal, for example shivering or excessive panting and desperately seeking shade etc... maybe it would also inc locking dogs in cars in a car park in the baking heat etc etc

idk the difficulty I could see would be in weather like snow, leaving a husky, for example in the snow wouldn't be in any way cruel but you could say it was an extreme temperature... but I would imagine things like that would be few and far between...

If my Postman unhooked my dog from the lead I would make a formal complaint and threaten legal action, he won't be so ****ing stupid again. Luckily my old postman only gave our dog treats (as we don't need to keep her tied down (one of the perks of having a Collie)).

>I can't really make any arguments comparing it to other laws etc as I'm not from the same country or culture etc so I can only offer my opinion sorta based around my own experiences of similar laws etc

You can always ask what somethings worth/costs in the price check thread. It is just as much for people looking to buy as it is people selling. Maybe that could help you?

And if it is a clack then there is a clack valuation thread as well.

Not a clack but an Easter pink F & J. I offered retail, was told it wasn't enough and asked what they were looking for then. Seems like they wanted a ton more than retail. It's all resolved now as I'm not paying that.

(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.
