I'd like to see the stabilizers first, and them some reviews, and then a 60% with a ANSI layout. Then I'll buy it right up

And with a custom title to prove it!
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

How do those stabilizers work? They don't look like MX stems but clearly they are.

Agreed. Looks quite promising, but I hope they bring out a 55g version. That'd be an instabuy. Dunno if I want to buy it if it ends up feeling like the Realforce 45g... but if it feels like Leopold 660C... well that'd be a maybe-instabuy.

Maybe this was a bas time to buy an HHKB :\

Meh. The HHKB is unique feeling because of the case-mount feel. The thock on that thing is pretty godly. HHKB is a different breed all together, imo.

It is

Which is why I was holding out of buying a f660c

Even if this is $200 (CM would never price it above that, too hard to advertise) its a great product

It'd be great if they price it below $200, but I really don't understand why you keep saying it'd be "too hard to advertise," if it's above that price.

Have we seen any info from CM regarding the spring weight yet?
It's a good width!  If it's half-width it's too narrow, and full-width is too wide.

The trigger is their only board above $150. And that has gamer lights and is full size.

The masses don't know what topre is, and thus won't buy this over their cheaper, cherry boards. Unless they advertise it as OOOOOHHH ELECTROOOO static membrane keyboard, it'll be interesting how they sell it

And I'm basing this off the f660c, which was $200, and is quite similar. Actual manufacturing probally costs the same

Not really, if they haven't decided on final retail price he'd be a bit silly to start throwing numbers around at CES.

For those who don't want to watch right now. Release is ~Q2 2014. Pricing as yet undetermined. They're marketing the Topre as being faster responding than the cherries.

it's a copout because they know it's been one of the most reoccuring questions since they started this thread and still don't want to let anything out of the bag, even when it's a good opportunity to gauge public opinion on a price.

i'm not judging lol; it's just funny.

Man I want to hear all about this thing. Who's making what, etc? Are the rubber domes pure Topre or a knock-off of Topre, etc?

Also... how mod-able are these switches? I saw a WFD video where he demonstrated that just taking the switches is difficult to do w/o breaking the switch. Can extract the stems and put them in a real Topre board (if too many of the components are too cheap, etc).

And then what is Topre up to? Are they coming out with a new board any time soon?

I found a video of it!

Did they actually take away the "gaming" font? :O

It looks the same to me. Maybe not though.

Yeah, you're right. I saw a better close-up of the keyboard and it still has the font. At least they did away with the extra white print that was on the QFR's function row though for this one.

Found another video with some information everyone might be interested in, 45g weighting across the board, but Carter said they weren't ruling out adding a 30, and 55g variant with different form factors.  Forward to around the 6:30 mark for info on the Novatouch.
