WASDKeyboard Red
« on: Fri, 08 November 2013, 15:01:04 »
I love WASDKeyboards Red color.
Does anyone know what the color it is?
Tried the keyboard color chooser: http://lab.cubiq.org/kbcc/#RR,WFK,WFK,NN
I see geekhack likes it also (it's the color in the favicon).

Also any other sources for this color probably side printed?

You can only get engraved or laser-burned keys from WASD Keyboards. No white legends, and no side-printing.
I don't have any colour samples from Signature Plastics to compare with ..

If you want to have side-printed caps, have you considered putting stickers or water-slide decals on them yourself?

I am familiar with keytop stickers (and use them on some keyboards).
But "stickers or water-slide decals"... do you know of any sources?

I know water decals are often used in model building, I'd suggest checking nearby hobby shops or see if you find anything online.

You can get the "gold keyboard stickers"   and then CUT THEM OUT with an xacto..  time intensive but looks very cool, because it has a 3d look when you put it on the side of the keycaps.

Unless they've changed the colour since I got my Sampler Kit, the WASD red is a bit pinkier than, say, SP red.

WASD red is in the middle:

(Yes, Rowdy tinkers with red keycaps too, just not quite as much as yellow.)
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada
