Very dirty martini with Bombay Sapphire socially.  A good amaro after dinner goes a long way too ...

I like it but wouldn't go wow.  IMHO there is no spirit that is out of this world.  A lot go in and out if fashion.  Heard a lot about patron for example, I took in a whiff and nearly threw up.

Free alcohol is my favorite alcohol :)

But it's never actually free, unless you steal it.

If you go to a party... there are expenses, the cost of travel, some labor (drink doesn't pour itself), and if you're drinking properly, there's also the bus-fare home...

So... yup.. free alcohol... very rare..

Isn't that how all alcoholic drinks should be?

Edit: Can anyone recommend me some 100% Proof Vodka? Absolut Black was pretty good but not amazing.

It's very much real. I've drank literally hundreds of bottles of it. They've changed their value range branding to this now though:

True.

It depends on the weather and occassion, my preference is a large measure of Vodka, 3 large ice cubes and a wedge of lime.

I've never actually tried Absolut Black, I don't think, so I can't compare. I like Absolut generally though, and the only real criticism I can think someone could have with it is it could be considered overly bland (which others would consider smooth, depending on your preferences). I would say Stoli has more characteristic vodka flavour (even though vodka isn't meant to have a flavour), so in that respect you might prefer it. My two favourite vodkas are Russian Standard and Stoli, but I like them for completely different reasons. Russian Standard is incredibly easy to drink and is ideal when you just want to add alcohol to something, whilst Stoli is what I would consider a "classic" Russian vodka to taste like and I drink it the way I'd drink a decent gin,; e.g. on the rocks, in a martini, or with a mild mixer like tonic or soda water.

Probably the fact that the previous one could actually be used as a paint thinner, and such like.

And for the record, Asda is the British Walmart, on account of the fact they're owned by Walmart. :)

I'm from London so know tesco all too well just had never seen the spirits section.  Let's say that if you like fine spirits the same way as mechanical keyboards you would equate tesco value gin to a rubber dome keyboard you could pick up at the pound shop.

(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Beer, but not pilsners, lagers, or most ales (there are some exceptions).  Following that it's a decent tequila or clean whiskey, but usually tequila.
