TG3 clears keyboard NIB for 50!
« on: Sun, 08 December 2013, 09:52:23 »
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Cherry-TG3-BL82-MX-CLEAR-industrial-grade-Space-Saver-keyboard-/221329310382?pt=PCA_Mice_Trackballs&hash=item33884142ae

The seller has been raising and lowering his price from time to time, and now at $50 I finally think his space saving TG3 keyboard is worth buying.

Quite doubt that it is going much lower than $50, and there are only 2 left.

huh? you ask me one month after I posted this? Having bought from the same seller, I personally think it felt great out of the box. IE no gritty feeling like I get with some new clears.

Yes, Spamray, it's vintage, because TG3 is a kid compared with IBM. Different scales and proportions.

Just like 7000 posts are nothing to Spamray, but it's a lot by the standards of ordinary people.

Lol vintage

This is about the same price as if you were to buy the switches by themselves.
This = ~$66, just switches ~$61.50 + whatever shipping would be.

actually I don't understand why nobody has picked up this deal. The keycaps are the standard PBT doubleshots!

But you get the caps too, and these are vintage clears, not regular clears, so enthusiasts are more willing to get these

and these caps are almost godly for backlit ones. They're DS PBT, but with a coat over the top. The only better in this department are the newer deck caps which are pure PBT DS

look at the logo. its the older style housing. And idk where I read on here about vintage clears, but they do exist, along with the commoner vintage black and vintage blue

For what it's worth, these come in rubber domes as well; and they feel pretty awesome.  Almost like Topre except a little more snappy feeling; and they sell for like $15 shipped.   Some even come with built-in lighting.

They look like this and come in black and white:

They have green strip lighting above them.  I recently sold one for $6 because I had too many keyboards :(

Come up every so often. Lots of people used to say that the dell quietkey (some versions) was like a poor man's topre. I loudly stated that I prefer my alphameric board (NKRO over PS2 with dyesubs and a magnesium case) to topre.

This is a great deal! I would be tempted but I have too many BL82's already.

I'd like to see some link to something legitimate about 'vintage' clears. I think it's just an older style of housing nothing more.
