Vinegar...
« on: Mon, 23 December 2013, 15:21:46 »
So I avoid using vinegar dips in my room because the acid smell lingers for a while..

I just figured out that If you put some OIL, in this case chili oil, atop the vinegar..  You can't smell the acid whatsoever.

Congratulations... you have discovered oil and vinegar, a combination known to man for only a few millennia.

When I went to America, I couldn't find Vinegar anywhere. Do you not really have it? Like in bottles, for on your food?
unless they have some unforeseeable downside (like they're actually made of cream cheese cunningly disguised as ABS)

It's everywhere.  All the bars / sport pubs here have Malted Vinegar for fried fish.  You just have to ask for it.

Yep, also applying Apple Cider Vinegar in water for your pets to drink eliminates any intestinal worms they might have.  Been using that method for my chooks and dogs for years.  Even I like drinking some of that with ice-cold water on a hot day.

I'm often amazed at how many different types of vinegar there are in the supermarket.  Not that I drink the stuff (if that is the correct phrase).
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

I quite often drink about 50-100ml of vinegar on its own in a night. 100% serious. I love that stuff.

Probably isn't very good for me..

Wales isn't a race, it is a country.

Could possibly be Xenophobia, but I like to think of it more as friendly rubbing as you American's do to Canada.  ;)

Hmmmmm......................................................

It's possssible since if the vinegar dissolves the lining to your mouth, it could be more prone to "infection"

I was under the impression that canker sores were due to a micro-nutrient deficiency..

I did an experiment a while back.. I stopped eating vegetables for a whole week.. got canker sores in the second week..

Started eating vegetables again, and the canker sores did not come back...  Then 3 month later.. I did the same thing again...   And sure enough within a week and a half. I had canker sores

Maybe not cankers then, but whatever they are it's uncomfortable to say the least.

In old folk medicine.. Apples were the general cure for canker sores. and they're quite acidic..

So It's a toss up really, between 3 possibilities,  acids Killing the germs, acids dissolving your mucus membrane- giving way to infectious germs, OR  micro-nutrient deficiency .

It could also be a combination of the 3,  even 1 and 2 are not truly mutually exclusive.. since both can occur to a degree which influence formation of sores.

erhm. maybe it's just your system telling you through your subconscious that you have parasites?
(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.
