He's asking $40 shipping now.
I trolled Geekhack and all I got was an eponymous SPOS.

I suspect it's actually based on destination. Still a decent price for brand new orbitouch?

D'oh! Of course it's based on destination.

Still, a greater part of me would rather pay $50 with $15 shipping than $25/$40. I'm on the fence.

That's bad psychology. Think of the expensive shipping as a finders' fee. Just look at the total price. ...or, say, the price Orbitouch are charging. http://shop.orbitouch.com/products/orbitouch-keyless-keyboard-tethered

(Spoiler: It's $399. But their shipping is only 13 bucks)

It's a pretty good price for a really weird keyboard. I'm into weird keyboards. If you're not into the esoteric stuff, you totally don't want one.

That price, holy **** lol these things retail for like $400, shipping for me was around $25 to virginia

yeah i had to grab one, its so strange, i just had to, who knows? i may like it lol, i doubt it but i want to start adding some ergo keyboards to my collection.

thanks for the find!

edit: lol it looks like you are groping boobs when this keyboard is in use, another argument for buying this keyboard. lol my guess is i wont end up liking it (it looks like its meant for disabilities, not normal users) but hey, dat price.

edit2:

This keyboard is for people with physical or mental disabilities, stress related injuries and pain associated with typing. Several of our users are people who have been diagnosed with autism or Asberger's syndrome, these people have a difficult time talking thus making voice recognition difficult to use. We are not setting out to replace the QWERTY keyboard, we are only trying to make technology accessible to all.

i don't know how i would ever be able to type on this without cheat sheet lol

it is also very loud. louder than Model M. my guess is this counts as being a mechanical keyboard

entire post typed on orbitouch. getting faster....

Here's a video with some "typing" sounds:

It's very cool, and I admire the intent to make an input device usable by people with motor function disabilities.  Having just read a few reviews, it seems like it would take up to 40 hours to fully master the OrbiTouch.  If it weren't so loud, I'd probably get one :)

I don't see any 120wpm videos on the orbitouch... wonder if it's achievable..

I think a high WPM for OrbiTouch is significantly lower than 100WPM--maybe somewhere in the 40-50 WPM zone.  It's a lot more effort to do all that movement,  and it takes a couple movements to produce each character.  It was not made for ergonomic high WPM performance.

Maybe if you programmed a robot to type on it.

this looks more like a piece of accessibility equipment than an ergonomic high productivity device.

which is actually how the orbitouch makers consider it as well, apparently it has worked well with people with autism and other stuff.

it was $25, i mean otherwise i wouldn't have got it.

i gave it a few hours and with the cheat sheet i was up to 12 WPM but it was just too much work, i put it back in the box for now.
