It still all comes together into an RJ45 (shielded or not).  I hate making shielded cables...

it matters for long runs though.. also if u live near power lines. and also important for buried cables..

Or going through the drop ceiling over a bunch of fluorescent fixtures... I'll admit, I didn't know there was S-STP, that's pretty neat.  I ripped into a DVI cable once, I think each wire was shielded, but they were like 28 or 30awg.

Yeah, I think I will stick with Cat5e UTP riser cable. Too expensive for minimal gains. If you use standard practices in your cable runs, interference shouldn't really be a problem.

well a very big issue is Basements.. because usually people have fluorescent lighting down there. or utility lines that cause interference..

So it's good to at least have ur main line ULTRA shielded.
