Okay... But if it ever becomes bothersome, just purchase a $1 anti-slip rubber mat and place it under your keyboard, and the pinging will most likely go away.

My Filcos have the same thing. One has it really pronounced on the space key even. But after I listened for it and located it, I forgot about it and have not thought about it since. It is one of those things that you will forget about and stop noticing unless you are the type that tends to obsess over small things.

I would not go as far as to say that I like the ping, but the overall ping, rattle and clack that the board produces is overall not unpleasant, I can agree with that.

The ping becomes annoying though. I only notice it for a while then it disappears.

My filco has an unmistakable ping on the "O" and "L" keys. My hope is that, if I can ever find one of those magic plates that allow switch top removal, once I do an ergo-clear swap this will go away. I love my Filco but I absolutely cannot stand the pinging.

The pings are inconsistent from instance of the product to instance demonstrating poor quality control.

It's not something to brag about, it's a manufacturing defect.

Pinging is a Filco characteristics that makes all Filco different from the rest.

It's intentionally made by Diatec so that Filco users all around the world can gather and happily complain about their wonderful ping experience.

I just wish mine didn't also squeek.

With luck I'll have time to do something about that this weekend, but it's annoying when you've paid so much.

put your ears close to the board 3 inches away..

Hold down 3 keys... Lift and let go of the keys as fast as you possibly can..

You'll hear the Ping.

it should be right after you hear the rebound click..

it should sound like if you twang a spring..

i actually like the high-pitched sound that blues make.  does that mean that I'd like the filco ping?

I have a minila and there is nothing resembling the ping at all, so is it only a fullboard/tkl thing?

I don't have the ping on a TKL so maybe some batch of them has it or something. I love the obnoxious sound of the blues too :p

Not sure whether we should look at this as a defect. It has no impact on the performance, and is actually not that noticeable. It also seems that it is not something the manufacturer tried to avoid since practically all Filcos have it. It is like the high -pitched humming sound in a lot of Logitech mice. It is there in every one, and barely anyone cares. The manufacturer said they are aware of it, but does not see it as a problem.

Wat. It squeekes because you need to lube it. Most things that are mechanical needs lubing.

Nope. I love blues, too - but the 'ping' is disgusting.

It's brand new and only affects certain keys.  Most things that are brand new and cost that much don't require me to buy lube to get them to work properly.

I guess.  It's a known detractive inconsistency.
