AFAIK, Reds are the lightest mechanical linear switch. Topre 30g are lighter, but not linear.

You can get softer springs for Reds, though. Originative 55g or 45g springs would both be lighter than stock Red springs. If you want REALLY light, go for the 45g ones. Some force diagrams here: http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=46449.msg981041#msg981041

you can buy the 45 g springs from Originative co..  they're 15g lighter...

i know futaba linears are pretty light, but those are on old boards and probably not what you are wanting

You do not get a originative keyboard, it's the name of a vendor.

You buy the springs, and swap them into your MX switches (which in the case of that Rk-9k you have would involve you having to desolder every switch)

Why don't you lube the reds first?

That is the simplest and easiest thing to do, and may give you everything that you are looking for.

Have you ever actually used MX reds? As someone who owns MX reds, I seriously cant imagine wanting anything lighter.

Like everyone else has said, your best bet would be to pick up a board with red or black switches and swap out the stock springs for a set of the 45g/55g originative springs. Keep in mind, Originative measures their springs at bottom out force and Cherry measures their spring force at actuation. Stock red springs are roughly 60g to bottom out so to swap in 45g springs would make your keys about 15g lighter.

If you get a board with Plate mount switches you will have to desolder all of the switches to swap the springs. However, if you were to get a board with PCB mount switches you can just pop the top off and swap the springs without having to desolder anything.
