Love my Impact :) Not easy to work w/ tho. That $160 for the Hero is a pretty good price.

Awesome price. But I might be done buying ASUS, I've had too many issues with their boards in the past few years.

Expensive boards in the haswell generation is a COMPLETE waste of money...

Who cares if it takes a little more voltage to overclock.. The cpu is obsolete in 2-3 years..

That extra voltage won't kill the chip in anything less than 20 years..

especially given the aggressive voltage ramp profile now that the voltage regulator is ON CHIP..

All of that extra (power circuit components) is just blowing money for no reason.. it's like a gold studed toilet brush.. fancy yes... but gawdy and a waste of resources..

There are 0 useful features that the ROG boards actually offer over the cheaper options now that the power circuit requirement is no longer a problem..

Every haswell chip can reach max overclock on every single z87 board, as long as you can keep the heat down..

Yes, it's true that you might get an xtra 100mhz on the maximus due to slightly lower voltage generating slightly less heat... but remove the heat spreader through the delid mod, and all that advantage the ROG board offers is GONE...

not only that... if you consider how most users arn't buying computers to BENCH... they will never even reach their heat envelope even using a higher voltage..  no games or desktop tasks will push the cpu to the thermal limit..
