Might be a little pretentious, but still a good reminder.

it's not that it's "boring" to be alive..

it's that being alive has become so incredibly simple in developed nations, that its inhabitants begin to contemplate WHY they live..

This is the result of having the free time to do so.. whereas prior generations were thoroughly preoccupied with an Active Duty to stay alive..

It's far more boring to be dead.

I suppose.
"However, even though I was born in the Mesozoic, I do know what anyone who wants to reach out to young people should say: Billionaires took your money. They took your chance to buy a home. They took your chance at a good education. They stole your opportunities. Billionaires took the things you want in life. If you really want those things, you have to take them back.
That's the message. That's the whole message. Say that every day, not just to reach America's frustrated young white men, but people of every age, race, and gender.
Late-stage capitalism is a wealth-concentration engine, focused on vacuuming up every dollar and putting it in as few hands as possible. Republicans are helping that vacuum suck.
How does a tiny fraction of the population get away with this? They do it by dividing the other 99% of Americans against themselves."

Please enlighten us with the actual viewpoints of anyone that is actually dead?  Would love to hear their perspectives on what's occurring in their current transition into decomposition and decay  ;D .

I guess it'll be more like the normal type of ugh, ugh, feed me .............brains, so I'll be safe no matter what  :thumb: .

mm.... i suppose death is the return to the natural conscious plane rather than the human plane.

Natural consciousness being the representation of a live consciousness that requisite objects not necessarily explicitly compatible with human consciousness.

So if you have a complicated star system that all influence each other through their respective gravities..   Given enough nodes,  that could be considered a consciousness... yet humans would not operate on that level..

So true, no matter how much money you accumulate, houses you own, or businesses under your control, eventually you shall join the millions of others in the ground or burned into a ceramic vase.

Dust to dust.......  the ultimate return to your beginning foundation.  There is no proof of another plane of existence other than to condition everyone that there might by a 'possibility' of existing somewhere else (all religions count on that same premise).

um...   another Human perceivable plane of existence no..   but let's say because you died on the road...  and were eaten by wolves.. who because of that meal.. was able to successfully give birth to wolf pups..

so you were converted into wolf pups.. that's not all that different from the concept of reincarnation..

So... in defining a seperate existence plane... it only matters  SUBjectively  what you want that plane to entail...

That reminds me of a poem:

Quote
Reincarnation
by Wallace McRae

"What does Reincarnation mean?"
A cowpoke asked his friend.
His pal replied, "It happens when
Yer life has reached its end.
They comb yer hair, and warsh yer neck,
And clean yer fingernails,
And lay you in a padded box
Away from life's travails."

"The box and you goes in a hole,
That's been dug into the ground.
Reincarnation starts in when
Yore planted 'neath a mound.
Them clods melt down, just like yer box,
And you who is inside.
And then yore just beginnin' on
Yer transformation ride."

"In a while, the grass'll grow
Upon yer rendered mound.
Till some day on yer moldered grave
A lonely flower is found.
And say a hoss should wander by
And graze upon this flower
That once wuz you, but now's become
Yer vegetative bower."

"The posy that the hoss done ate
Up, with his other feed,
Makes bone, and fat, and muscle
Essential to the steed,
But some is left that he can't use
And so it passes through,
And finally lays upon the ground
This thing, that once wuz you."

"Then say, by chance, I wanders by
And sees this upon the ground,
And I ponders, and I wonders at,
This object that I found.
I thinks of reincarnation,
Of life and death, and such,
And come away concludin': 'Slim,
You ain't changed, all that much.'"

the return to the natural conscious plane rather than the human plane.

I would contend that continued consciousness would not be "death" but rather only "the death of the physical body"

This forum is a monument to TL:DR

And, if I were in charge, I would limit threads to 100 posts. After that, there is just too much to wade through, mostly swamp mud.

I recently read that we exchange 98% of the atoms in our body over the course of a year, so in a real way we are constantly being reincarnated.

That guy needs some help.  Apparently he's pretty close to shaking people on a subway and shouting "DUDE YOU'RE AN ANIMAL ON A ROCK IN SPACE!" at them.

I guess life is never boring when the invisible beast police are trailing their rainbow deflecting hyper guns through the streets as rabid oak trees grow far above the cloud-line in mere seconds. Also, why is everyone else so cool about all this, and when is this acid supposed to kick in?

Dust to dust.......  the ultimate return to your beginning foundation.  There is no proof of another plane of existence other than to condition everyone that there might by a 'possibility' of existing somewhere else (all religions count on that same premise).

There is no "proof" of anything, only evidence convincing enough to meet your personal criteria for "proof". For some people there is enough evidence to meet their criteria for "proof" of an existence beyond the physical. For others, there isn't enough evidence to convince them that even the physical is "real".

For me, I am convinced of the existence of something beyond our current physical experience, based on the evidence I have seen / experienced personally.

And for me, life is far from boring. I have a sense of purpose and a whole lot of things to get done before I die. Like making keyboards, trying vintage Blacks, owning a buckling spring board, etc...
Buying more keycaps,
it really hacks my wallet,
but I must have them.
